"Say it. Please. This time." "Goodbye, my Sarah Jane."

Heartbreaking. She was a fantastic actress. =( (BBC)

Gah, no, that's terrible, I actually found her quite attractive. Worst birthday news yet.She will be missed.

Sad news is sad.

I've never watched any of the Sarah Jane Adventures, but I enjoyed her appearances in relaunched Doctor Who.

I was genuinely sad when I read this. First Nicholas Courtney, now Elizabeth Sladen.

Sad times.

Though I'm only a recent member to the Doctor Who fan club, it's deeply saddening to see that Elisabeth Sladen has passed. Makes her final scenes in Doctor Who all that more sad...

I found about this on twitter before it was "official" just after class. Worst way to end class ever.
However sad it is, though, she'll always be fondly remembered. And it makes me happy that she did get to see and act in New Who.

:(

Sarah Jane was always one of my favorite companions. 63 is just way too young to go. This is just awful.

I said this a few times yesterday, but I think it still reflects my feelings: The Tardis just got a bit smaller on the inside.

My thoughts to her family and those she was close to. I hope they will dedicate the special on Saturday to her memory.

Saturday isn't a special, it's the start of the new series. But yeah, it'd be unsurprising if there was a little note at the end of the credits.

There's going to be a 15 minute tribute on the CBBC channel after the episode has ended.

This is so sad! I just started watching the old Who starting with 4. It makes it hard to watch knowing she isn't around any more.

I hadn't realized she had cancer, considering she had the Sarah Jane Adventures. Was the show finished, or were they working on it when she passed?

They were planning a new series, but hadn't started on it yet.

Very sad news. I never watched the Sarah Jane Adventures, but she was amazing on Doctor Who.

To quote my ex girlfriend "I has a Sad".

Shame, she was so active and still doing so much work, I thought she'd have another good couple of decades in her, and that's just time working active. she looked so good for 63.

I read somewhere (can't remember where precisely) that they'd filmed three episodes before she became too ill to continue. Its a shame, because of the episodes I had watched of TSJA, they were absolutely brilliant, and utterly gripping, and I really ought to watch all of them at some point!
