Re: Thread of soothing cuteness
I feel kinda bad about my gunpowder collection now.
Totally accurate, except for all the times I'm not.
Re: Thread of soothing cuteness
Never feel bad about that. Never.
Gunpowder is a beautiful thing.

1 more attempt to ignite mollusc fetishism:

Oh snails, you so cool.
I'd already developed a snail fetish after watching Bakemonogatri.

Re: Thread of soothing cuteness
I've been looking for an excuse to post pictures of my whole zoo I have living here, so this is probably as good a one as any. From the top!
Tweety was the first pet I had as a child, a (primarily) blue English Budgerigar. He lived to be nearly fourteen-years-old and unfortunately passed away in his sleep while I was on vacation in 2010. He is predeceased by his two younger cage mates, Sylvester, my white American Budgerigar, and Woodstock, my yellow American Budgerigar, who also unfortunately I only have pictures of in photo albums. We didn't have any fancy digital type camera back in those days.
Snowy is my nine-year-old, deaf-as-a-doornail cat. I've had him since he was about about four weeks old (way too young!) He came from one of those "Kittens free to good homes" ads in the newspaper, from a house that was busted a month later for selling crack. The day we brought him home, he had an orange stain all over his face because the "breeder" had been feeding the kittens spaghetti and meatballs out of a can.
Bear is my eight-year-old German Shepherd Dog mix who I've had since he was eight-weeks-old. He competes in Agility, Obedience, and Rally-Obedience, though he is semi-related now and only competes for fun. Hopefully, we'll be doing some Search & Rescue training next year.
Whiskers was the oldest of my three rats. He came to me at eighteen-months-old from a home where his owner (an eight-year-old girl) no longer wanted him because she had just gotten a puppy. My father always used to refer to him as being a ginger rat. He lived with me for a wonderful six months before sadly passing away October of last year, but those six months were well worth all the vet bills I incurred over that time to deal with the health problems his previous home had plagued him with.
Oskar (black) and Vinzent (white) are my two younger rats, brothers who I adopted from a lovely woman whose son had been given two male rats for Christmas who turned out to be a male and female pair, and then had eight babies. They're eighteen-months-old.
Sailor is the six-year-old Beagle whom I had the pleasure of fostering for a short period of time last fall. My mother and I found him wandering around in the middle of the busy street and were thankfully able to catch him before he could get hurt. It turned out that he was already a part of our local rescue, Beagle Paws, and had escaped from his foster family's home in our town. We fostered him ourselves in hopes of being able to adopt him, but unfortunately, he had some aggression issues around other dogs and was unable to be trusted around Bear, so we had to return him to the rescue. He is currently living as a happy single-dog with his new foster Mom.
Last but not least, the newest addition to my family is my bouncy baby Boxer, Mozart. He was born at my local SPCA and will be seven-weeks-old on Tuesday. Again, too young to be home away from his litter, but if I had refused then he simply would have been adopted to a different family, so I felt the best thing I could do was take him. He is my future sports hopeful, and will begin his Obedience training in a few days when he is completely settled into the home.

Entirely possible; the wedding band on the right is a little thick for what women typically wear...
