Hey I am jumping on the band wagon really really late but is it possible to be added to the list? I'm in the UK though so not sure if it is coming this way again at any point?

Point of note: Disc 2 is not in great shape. It is pretty scratched up, to the point where my desktop is refusing to read it. Luckily my laptop did accept it.

I've given all disks the most careful cleaning I could manage (pure Isopropyl alcohol and the softest cleanroom wipes we have at work). They needed this. Badly.

It was in pretty good condition when I received it and when I sent it back out. Not sure what happened afterwards.

I don't recall specific discs, but yeah, there was definitely some fingerprints and minor scratching when I had them. No issues with watching, though.

The scratching does seem to be largely superficial though, a good resurfacing/polishing should have them as new. This is however a process that can normally be done maybe twice, so I would recommend waiting until the disks either become completely unreadable or have returned home to CancerBottle.

Xhojn, the disc is actually headed to Anubis169 in the U.K. after simonAJ, so you're in luck! PM Anubis with your shipping info so we can keep this moving as quickly as possible.

Do the push-tabs still hold the discs in place in the DVD case? I seem to remember one being a little loose. If one of the discs is rattling around inside the case during transit, that could be a source of the scratches.

The discs are not mine, they are bar room hero's. PLEASE DO NOT have the discs polished or resurfaced unless he asks you to. Cleaning the discs with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth should be fine, though.

EDIT: Dutch guy, do you still have the discs? If so can you take a photo of the discs and post them here or send them to bar room hero? The owner should see what condition they're in and decide if he would like the discs to return home.

simonAJ, if the discs are in transit now, can you do ^that once you get them?

I've still got them. I've viewed disks 1 and 2, hoping to watch disk 3 today, so I can ship them somewhere in the coming week.

I'll try to get some pictures (taking a pic of a shiny surface is rather tricky though)

For what it's worth, it looks pretty superficial. I've had worse play with no problem.

bar room hero, one thing you might want to try is a device like the SkipDr. Since it doesn't actually remove material from the disc, it might be a better alternative than a professional polishing.

Thats pretty much my thought as well. The biggest problem with disk 2 (And probably the reason my desktop had problems) is the radial scratch at about 2/3rds of the data track.

At this point I think it would be better to just keep this going (theres not that many people in the list anymore) and have them resurfaced once the disks return home. (I'd even be willing to chip in for the repair costs as a thank you for being allowed to view them)

Amake is after you. You have a week after receiving the disc to watch it and send it on. The list as well as the rules are in the OP.
