So guys, sadly I'm not gunna be able to make it this weekend.
Due to my ex-roommate being a complete prick, I can't actually get a new concession card from centerlink. (They'd mail it to his place, and if I change my adress back to here, I loose almost $200 a fortnight.) and my Mykey is a concession, so if I get caught with it coming there or going home, it's like a $200 fine.

Hopefully I'll have this shit sorted by next time though.

Nope, the reason why it really sucks is that it's difficult for interstate/international visitors to use public transport without someone else buying them a card for them.

I would say that it is not that difficult for a visitor. You can buy a Myki from any train station, some tram stops, 7-Eleven and various other retailers. If you arrive by air, train or coach into Melbourne you will pass through a place where you can get one.

We could have the mess which is ticketing in Sydney.

My gripe with the ticketing system here in Melbourne is that I can not get concession. Graduate students are ineligible and so are international students. I find it slightly weird that I can get discount movie tickets and footy tickets but not discount transit tickets as a Canadian PhD student.
