1) This is definitely a correct place to put this (I think there's also a "Shamelss Self Promotion" thread that might fit)
2) I am all about videos of people making cool things. Machining, woodworking, etc. Love them. Subscribed.
3) It's subjective, but I liked the music.
4) Feedback, two things:
First, the camera autofocusing (I think that's what it was, kinda zooming a bit for a sec) near the start was a bit annoying.
Second, the speed everything was going when you were gluing/sanding/finishing cut the time, which is good, but made it a bit hard to follow. Maybe you could add some annotations or something to explain what you're doing?

Anyway, really good. I will definitely be watching future stuff.

My craft along got accepted! And I managed to make a Grandpa Bulbasaur like I've wanted to for the past couple weeks.
He matches nicely with the Charlie Chaplin Squirtle and the Dapper Charmander. They even all have bells. Though Squirtle's bell is in his tail and not his hat.

Pictures in collapse because I hate taking up too much space.

The LRRScarf is completed; I forgot to take a pic before loaning it to a friend, but it looks ace.

So, instead... LRR bracelet. I just got a Rainbow Loom and have been working like a madwoman since.

I know the middle pic looks weird. It's rubber bands. Don't worry about it. Also, I know the colors aren't exact, but I had to paint with the colors I was given. I think it looks cool regardless.

So I started my art studies this week, and the first major task of orientation week was to form a random group of 4 new students, pick 3 random words from a hat, and make a movie trailer with a title that contains those words. My group picked "moist", "disco" and "kitten". 8 hours later, we produced this video, which I am quite proud of:

Drew this based on the mental image someone I know said that they had of me. Feeling ill today, so having a funny little thing to draw was nice. :)

That's quite a nice idea.
I'd done one that someone's thoughts on me, but I think my humour may go over some people's heads.

Who knows unless you give it a try? I'd love to see it, your art is kickass. :D

Do movie reviews count as art? Eh, I put words on a page, I'm going to count it.

Reviewed Kubo and the Two Strings for my new student newspaper job! You can read it here if you're interested. :)

Good enough for me. Art on Art?
Anyway; Pretty much agree. Wonderful film that really people should try to see in cinemas. Its just beautiful on a few levels. Also, weirdly for me it felt like a Zelda film in places, but for all the right reasons. [/slightly offtopic I guess]

Yeah, I guess it does have kind of a Zelda feeling. It's that very child-like (but not in a bad way) adventure story quality. Plus a collection quest with giant boss monsters probably helped.

Finally got the LRR scarf back from the friend who borrowed it!

There are no words for how proud I am of it. I'm making one for The Ohio State University now (go Buckeyes!); they're easy, and only take one skein of thread.

Tomorrow being Halloween, my office is running a pumpkin contest. However, I'm not much of a fan of pumpkins - the taste, the spice, hollowing out the gunk and trying to carve the dumb thing - so I decided upon building a diorama in a fake pumpkin. Here's the creepy overgrown cemetery that I put together today while listening to a Tinker Tailor stream (photos behind the collapse):

Materials are a crafting pumpkin, floral foam, "reindeer moss," craft sticks, wire tree, glue, skeleton lego parts, plastic fencing, and a Disneyland glowing ice cube for the lighting.

Two things I learned:
1. Floral foam is an abomination which should never have existed. (Florists, I'm sorry, but it's true.)
2. "Reindeer moss" looks cool but smells terrible. Or maybe that's just because I got this moss from the dollar store.

I might actually try to fill in some of the open space with dirt, or I might leave it alone. Either way, now I'm afraid I will lose to a carved or a painted pumpkin. I will actually be very disappointed if this happens.

But now I'm going to eat something.

Thank you, but my fears came true. Mine was the only faux pumpkin of the competition, and I took third place (of three entries) behind a coworker who basically carved the name of the company and his department (disguised as a jack-o-lantern face) into his pumpkin and another coworker who also did a cemetery, but just carved an opening into her pumpkin and stuck in some figurines.

The upside is that since there were three prizes, I did get a $25 giftcard to Fandango.com, a box of popcorn, and a bag of candy.

The disappointing thing is that everybody told me they loved what I made, but it didn't translate to votes. It just kind of felt like all the work I put into it wasn't appreciated. But I'm already thinking about next year's entry. I want to make it so awesome as to be irresistable... so I'm researching special effects I can do on the scale of a pumpkin. And since apparently my coworkers insist upon actual pumpkins, I'll just subcontract out the carving. :P
