Just watched the latest episode of south park, due to aired in my country on Friday. If you are a fan and have not seen it yet find it now. http://www.allsp.com/ is the best site though x episodes will also have it. It is the saddest episode ever and i think it heralds the end of south park. As in the end full stop.

Please if you have a view on this, whether you agree or disagree please respond.

lol, always thought my first post on this forum would be for asklrr.

I know you must be a spam bot because it was not a sad episode. It was full of shit. Lots of shit.

Plus, y'know, this is the 7th episode of a season.

They're usually 14 eps long.

no actually not a bot. i wasn't suggesting that this was the last ever episode, but that it heralded the end. i think this could very well be the last ever season, the conversation betwixt Sharon and randy at the end felt like something that was being said by mat and trey.

and if you didn't think that was a sad episode you clearly don't have the same level of attachment to the characters i do. to see Stans life fall apart like that, to see Sharon and randy divorce in a very real and serious way was touching. this was not the normal, strange things happen and by the next episode everyone has forgotten, this was far to real.

anyway i digress. didn't expect to be called a bot on my first post but there we go.

Well, they're not signed up for another season, so it could be the last.

It could very well be the last and that's not really a bad thing. So far I've found this season to be less entertaining than previous ones. However Theremin bring sup a good point, this season is only half over. We've come to learn to expect anything from these guys.

I do love me some Randy wackyness. So they better not be ditching his character or I will be very sad.

If your first post includes a link to view a tv show episode that just came out, it's a fair guess. We get a lot of those.

I have an attachment to the show. I've watched it religiously since the first episode aired on tv. I just don't think you and I have the same definition of sad. I agree the convo between Sharon and Randy did feel like Matt and Trey talking.. even my husband said it was weird for them to turn the tables on themselves. I will be very sad if it is the end, as I was hoping it would pull a simpsons and just last forever. I'm interested to see what is in store for next week. I think they might just be fooling their audience to bring in more live viewers... at least.. I can hope.

If they do end, I forsee a lot more movies like Team America coming out.

Agree @Echi, it's been a weak season thusfar.

That would be in no way a bad thing.

Are you talking about the movie thing I posted? I definitely don't think it would be a bad thing. That movie was so funny I own 2 copies of it.

But I will miss South Park. I hope they just take a break, rather than cancel it.

I've never got the appeal of South Park I like my satire to be a little more subtle. I don't really care if it finishes or not, frankly.

Trey and Matt always said they would love to end it with another feature. If it is indeed coming to an end, I hope they end it with a bang rather than a whimper.

I hope the remaining 7 episodes will be a six part epic followed by a stupid Terrance and Philip episode. You know, make the finale completely anticlimactic.

Well I don't watch that much South Park but I liked that episode a lot.

It wasn't that sad, a little sad towards the end though as I did suffer a bad case of being a cynical ass hole, but I got over it thanks to a lot of Disney and only have minor relapses now or days.

Damn, double post, uh, if it goes oh well, they've produced more than most shows get.

Is South Park still running? I thought they'd have cancelled it long ago.

I'm sorry to hear so many of you say that.

South Park is great, and while I don't feel this season is as sharp as last season, I'm amazed that it has still remained as clever and funny as it has. Unlike the Simpsons, for example, I really think SP has gotten better over time.

I felt like South Park was continually getting better until season 12. I think 12 was still good, but I had to struggle to get through 13 completely. I haven't gone through the catalogue, but 14 and 15 seem much better than the disaster that was season 13.

Anyway, on actually viewing the episode, I got the exact same vibe that you did. Maybe they're just being meta and poking fun at their fans who (like me) are claiming the show has fallen far from grace and started to become shitty, and saying it's just their taste that has changed. I actually kind of hope it's subtext for closing out the show. I like it when shows die with dignity instead of fizzling out when they've finally run out of ideas and burnt every bridge possible.

Sorry to ruin everyone's speculation that this is the last season, but they actually are indeed signed on for another two seasons after this one.

That's not to say they couldn't just go "fuck it" and walk away, I'm just saying it's less likely than this episode might make it seem.

I think this episode was written for those who say the season has been rubbish as a way of saying 'look this is how it could go but won't'.

I like how the subplot with the two old men "saving the britches" was a callback to the "underpants gnomes" episode from the early days of South Park.

Huh, just watched the episode. All I could think of was my late teens - early twenties (I'm officially in my mid-late twenties) when I was at my most cynical. I think it was just SP's way of acknowledging to the people that watch it that if the show seems shitty now, maybe they should really consider if it's the show that's really shitty, or if they're just being cynical.
Honestly, I didn't think there anything particularly deeper in this episode than others. I think SP has grown a lot since it's been on, to the point that it's very self-aware of what it is, and what it does.

Also, if anyone thinks that this season's been a little weak, The Book of Mormon opened on Broadway in March, which Trey Parker and Matt Stone were very much a part of, so maybe they've been burnt out.

I watched it with my flatmates the other night. Not really sure what to make of it. The end seemed very solemn and uncharacteristic for them. I don't really like to speculate, so I guess I'll just wait to see if this leads to anything.
