Ditto to all the above, and Star Wars.
Re: The General Chat thread
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgLl0_mqLtc This collection of Star Wars bloopers will be of little interest to you then. But it might give someone a few chuckles.
As for me, I've gone out of my way to see a lot classics just because they're considered classics, out of an interest in movies and psychology. I can report that Citizen Kane has aged horribly and you'll probably get more of the same out of watching The Social Network instead, Top Gun is unnecessary when you can watch Hot Shots!, The Godfather is okay but mostly if you're a fan of Marlon Brando, and Jaws is like Alien but if you took out 90% of what makes it good and set it on a sunny beach. If you want to watch an old old movie that holds up as one of the greatest comedies ever made, I can heartily recommend Dr Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb.

Oh God...I feel like I'm the Last Film Geek...I'm kidding.
Honestly, you can skip E.T. Unless you're a HUGE Spielberg fan, it doesn't really hold up that well. I've always been more of a Scorsese kind of guy.
HE'S DIRECTING A FRANK SINATRA BIOPIC I AM FANBOYING SO HARD RIGHT NOW.

I got worse. I've seen it and really don't like it. Only Spielberg film I've ever disliked.

To be fair, I've never seen ET either. But then again, I've never seen Star Wars. Or Indiana Jones. Or Scarface. Or The Godfather. Or -insert the movie you love here-. But I HAVE seen Pulp Fiction.

Star wars is an amazing saga (except for the recent films that aren't very good but still), Indiana Jones is ok, the rest I haven't watched. The idea of a film / series focusing on the mafia does not appeal to me. I don't know why, though! I should absolutely give them a chance.
Pulp fiction.... is a difficult one for me, because I just can't stand Tarantino!

Mafia films aren't very sexy, they don't usually have very good female roles and (usually) cater to a male audience.
I'm sure you totally loved Eastern Promises though because VIGGO.

Hey!!! It was an awesome film, Viggo or not!! He was there and added to the film, though!

He added something alright...
Re: The General Chat thread
Well, his character was pretty damn awesome. Also, Naomi Watts and Vincent Casell were amazing

To be fair, Top Gun does not hold up. At all. Tom Cruise is Shatner-levels of hammage.

I never "got" Top Gun. The air combat went completely over my head, pun not intended.
Re: The General Chat thread
I watched Top Gun and did not like it, haha, I never got what all the fuss was about.

Especially when you budgeted for them. Now where the hell is that money going? To the chimney sweeps? The paper boys? The ORPHANS???

The roller-skating trains? The feral kitties? The flappers? The togas? The fiddles?

I'd like to think 'reality' was just another layer of dream in Inception, and Cobb's lying comatose on a cot in Miles' office while he and Mal try to wake the poor university student up after their first experiment...
