I'm not sure I understand. Wouldn't that result in less burning?

So I finally got around to seeing Game of Shadows today. While it was a fun movie, and I did enjoy it, I think the BBC series has become the "definitive" Sherlock Holmes for me, and just seems "better" than the movie. I suppose the movie focuses a bit too much on being an action/comedy movie, while the series is more devoted to the "cleverness" of Sherlock Holmes, and showing how that effects the people around him.

Tsk. But yes, I think most nerds will prefer the series because of its wittiness and intelligence.

I fully admit I was unsure about that. Like much of the English language, the difference between effects and affects alludes me. Although of course, in retrospect, affects does appear to be the better-fitting word. I blame my cold.

TODAY IS THE FUCKING DAY
TODAY I START A SERIOUS DIET
While working two jobs will make it hard to work out, I tell you all who read this now, ON MY LIFE, I begin a change, or die trying.
*No fried food
*Two servings of dairy a day
*No soda or diet at best
*WATER WATER WATER (With Mio if possible)
*Eat less
No midnight snacks
Working 17hours a day I am running everywhere on my feet. That should be work out enough. If I eat twice a day with a SMALL salad it should all balance out. On days I am at school I'll eat two small meals and one decent meal. Water only.
TODAY, April 17th, 2012 I weight 260. I'll let you know what I am in two weeks.

I've done it before too! When I did the p90x for three weeks, lost 15lbs it took a few months to gain back. I don't have time to do that but damn... I'm like auuughh..

Thanks too Fayili.

A few days ago on the car ride back from school, my ride and I were discussing bulimia and how we've both considered it. Never done it but just thought about it. She didn't think she could due to the taste. I'm not so sure about me though. Not THAT desperate though..

Yeah, don't do that. Vomiting up food as a way to lose weight doesn't work. I mean, initially it does, but it also makes your body think that there isn't enough food around and it goes into survival mode, which means that once you start eating normally again all it does with food is turn it into fat in case you can't find enough food again. So you balloon up.

Also, it's incredibly difficult to gauge how much food you need, so you could easily pass out or worse.

Basically; don't even think of bulimia as a viable option. Just stick to the diet you've outlined. Also, good luck! :)

Well we were only shooting shit about it, not truly considering it.
With my body, I tend to know when I need food because it goes through these phases I've grown to know the past couple weeks working two jobs:
Hungry, growling stomach
Not hungry, holy crap I feel sick
Not hungry or sick at all
Hey look, the floors getting closer

I try to eat before stage four though

Thanks Jester!

I'm sorry, working 17! hours a day? (Which will mean, realistically, no more than 5 hours sleep per night?) You do realise a massive factor in weight loss has been determined to be getting enough rest right? (As in atleast 7 hours a night) I still wish you good luck, but I don't think this is going to help you lose weight. It's just going to break you.

4 hours actually. Wake up at 4am, shit/shower/shave. Go to work at five til 1pm. Drive to my other job that starts at 2. Work til 930/945. Get him tenish. Do homeowkr or just relax, crash at 12. This essentially was what I did Tuesday, Thursday-saturday. Sunday I did 9-4 at one job and Monday/Wednesday is school. I do believe my second job now gives me Tuesday off so I only work the one. Which tbh sucks as its less money.

Make sure you're getting all your vitamins and nutrients, lots of veg if you can. Avoid energy dranks and the like.

Keep on hustlin'!

:| I've survived the past couple weeks on 16oz Starbucks double shots and. 4 Seattles best coffee a day. How will I function otherwise?!

Apples, bananas, oranges, etc. One does not need caffeine to survive, especially that much. Inability to function without coffee is actually indicative of caffeine addiction. Give it about a week or so, though, and you'll be right as rain again.

I find it hard to function without two cups of coffee a day, so it's not as though I can claim any high ground...
