Doesn't change the fact that the costume looks horrible.
It looks like he's wearing a tire...

Re: So... what do you think of the new spider-man?
so what?
It's red, it's blue, and it has a spider on it. It looks cool. and on the grand scale of my ability to suspend disbelief, the construction and materials used to build a super suit fall well below the threshold.
Does he look like spider-man? Yes? Ok, sold.
Here:
Better?
Also, Emma Stone may have been born to play Gwen Stacey.
(and Andrew Garfield is an excellent actor, so as long as the script holds out, sign me the FUCK up.)

Didn't similar complaints turn up the first time the movies started production?
It's a costume, I doubt you'll even notice much in the movie.

To be honest, the texture kind of reminds me of a basketball combined with fishnet. But I still kind of like it. I have no problem with revamping the design a bit. And I'm especially digging the spider.

Re: So... what do you think of the new spider-man?
You wanna know what's always made me wonder?
How does Spider-man cling to walls in his costume?
I mean, I get that he's got all those tiny little hairs and whatnot on his skin that let him stick to them, but his skin is covered up 100% by his costume, so why does it still work?

Disbelief suspended.
Also I don't like Spiderman anymore. Except for the first movie. It's a series I think should've gone the way of Thor or Green Lantern.
One movie, then bring him into the whole expended universe thing.
Except Thor was actually decent.

They're rebooting for a reason.
Also shut your face Spidey kicks ass.

They're especially tiny little hairs, and he isn't wearing a damn space suit. They simply go through the gloves.
Also
His eyes have been smaller.

Didn't need rebooting but eh, colour me intrigued. Again.

And that reason is that the director had a tiff with Sony, because of all their interfering with S3 and the planned S4, who have to have another film out in cinemas by next year or they'll loose all film rights back to Marvel/Disney.
Spidey remains, stupidly, outside the current Marvel film continuity.

Re: So... what do you think of the new spider-man?
Do they really need to tell the origin story over again? Can't they just assume the viewers know this already? Or just make it like a fraction of the movie? I have no plans to see this.

well origin stories allow for decent characterisation. If you pick up a superhero in medias res, there's only so far you can take the character without it seeming arbitrary.

If it's another origin, I won't be seeing it. It was done fine the first time. And then Spiderman 3 happened...

I'm intrigued to see where this goes. I mean, it can't be much worse than Spider-Man 3 (An Emo... strutting? Also, that couldn't have been Venom!).
Also,
Fixed that for ya.

And that reason is that Sam Raimi is only good at directing films with a shoe string budget, thus he fluffed it up big time

Re: So... what do you think of the new spider-man?
Well...kinda.
I remind you he was still in high school when he started dating MJ, that in numerous other universes he EXCLUSIVELY dated MJ, and that Gwen _dies_ because the writers had nothing better to do.
Which is a rather cruel thing to do to any new fans, and old fans, again.
Though I always preferred MJ to Gwen (...I'm hair biased, what?)
