Yea, had to clean the aperture blades, then put it back together. Need to adjust it a little more but it's fixed for sure.

I know the D600 is gonna be a FX camera, All my lenses are from Film days, so using a DX camera is a bit pointless, well not pointless, but more complicated than just grabbing an FX camera. Just pretty much the specs leaked out put it at using a D7k sized body with a FX sensor

Ahhh yes the size. I thought you meant the spec and I was all HURRR?

Well, Nikon defeated my FIF quite well, pricing the D600 in no mans land. So now looking to jump ship from Nikon and into a Sony NEX camera...or a used D700...Seems my Fiscal Indecision Fairy has become active...

Haven't decided if its fiscally irresponsible or not yet, but bought a PS Vita today.
Technically I have the money to do it, since I'm just finishing a 3 month paid placement and suddenly moneys, and the fact that I'm buying it in a foreign country means I got the wifi/3G version, plus a 4GB memory card and a free copy of Motorstorm RC for the same price as the basic wifi version with no extras would've cost me back home.

However I've already got a DS lite, a fat PSP and a 3DS, so do I really need another handheld? Was planning on getting one eventually so that I could play Persona 4: The Golden and Zero Escape (the 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors sequel) when they came out, just perhaps not this early.

Sooo... yeah... Been playing it all evening though and really enjoying it, so not complaining about it!

Yeah for that price I would just jump to the D800. It's not that they aren't offering a lot in it. I find the D600 to be pretty obselete next to the other stuff Nikon offers. Jsut at a slightly less price point than the D800, or a large jump price point from the other stuff you can get. It just doesn't make sense.

The D800 is so much more than what I need a camera for. The Nex-5s use the same sensor as the D7k, which makes the D7k pointless (F mount adapter for the NEX, sure my lenses all become MF and have to deal with 1.5x crop, but only have 2 AF lenses of any real use (80-200mm f/2.8, 300mm F4)

Least we know why they killed the D700 directly, the D600 came in at exactly it's price point, luckily some D700's should begin selling around 1500 range soon.

I really hated the D700. Truthfully I wish I could have lept to the D4 instead of the4 D800. If somehow I find a way to grow money I will use the D800 as a backup ;)

Why'd you hate the D700? Pretty much everyone I've ever heard has heaved nothing but praise at it. I basically just wanted a small bodied FX camera, really I'd like a digital about the size of a Nikon FG

Yep. Most of it's Lord of the Rings, and then the Tie-Fighter I got because I went to the opening of the LEGO shop near me. The Minecraft one's pretty cool, especially the creeper, even if the set is really fiddly to put together.

Because I don't want to start a new thread and this seems a decent place to discuss what our FIFs are trying to get us to do:

Has anyone here tried using an Android phone with Mac OS? Given the iPhone 5, I'm considering jumping.

Keeping in mind I used a really used one.. ISO at 6400 was not usable. Which is a big deal when you are in a dark cathedral shooting a wedding with no flash allowed. Even with a fast lens =/

A year and a bit ago (last summer) I was involved with a sort of browser-based ARG... thing... that was based on Thomas Dolby's music. The last two concerts he played in my area were 21+, so I couldn't go. Now he's finally doing one in my home area that I should be able to attend... except that I'll be down in L.A. for school. Is it worth it to come back up for the weekend just a few weeks after I go down for school? It's a fair amount of money, but dammit, I want to see one of his shows.

Sunday night: I decide that I should look through the back catalogue of Rock Band DLC.
Monday morning: I see that all the pre-RB3 DLC is half price for the week.
Monday evening: I start to make a list of all the songs I want to get.
Now: I realize that I am going to be spending a lot of money this week.
