Subquestion! How would you treat your pokémon?
So, in addition to what your starting pokémon would be, what would it be to you? Would it be a friend, who you'd take everywhere? A pet, left at home and showered with love? Or a competition pokémon, entered into tournaments? What would you do with a pokémon?

I would walk in long grass and force it to fight the same fucking wild pokemon over and over again until it grows a bit.

Okay, I assume anime rules apply here, not game logic.
I'd take it with me everywhere, really. If I can keep it in a tiny ball when it needs to be concealed, why wouldn't I? That said, I'd probably leave it at home if I went to work.

We would be the bestest of friends forever. We would battle and train for the sake of personal growth and so that together we may vanquish the forces of evil!
And if they didn't want to live in a pokeball, that's alright with me.

I think mine would probably wind up being a housepet. I mean, they're lovable, but you can't just take your dog into work. I think Bulbasaur would stay at home with some toys to play with, but have much love and affection whenever we got home.

Firstly: I love that this thread exists.
Umbreon and I would do college work (dance routines, drama pieces, and such*), in our free time we'd battle**.
As Umbreon prefers and I prefer night, we'd go train in the dark.
*I wouldn't enter Umbrion in any competition, as I'm not a fan of them.
**I would battle alongside Umbrion, I'd fight my foes trainer.

I wouldn't let mine fight unless it wanted to fight.

With marinade. Then with fire until medium-rare.

@gunner wrong thread. That thread is what made me ask about the starter pokemon.

Shave them bald, roll them downstairs, name them Slinky.

I love that trailer. I wish they'd make a full film...
Anyway, I thought long and hard about this when I was a child. And I decided I'd open a café.
You could have Squirtle doing the washing up, Charmander cooking the food and Pikachu powering the place.
Of course, at that age I didn't think about the actual food. Which, owing to the lack of any non-pokémon in the Pokémon universe, would end up being Goldeen and chips or something like that. Slightly ruins the whole idea.

I love that this thread has now twice moved to the subject of eating pokemon.
Re: Subquestion! How would you treat your pokémon?
How would I treat my Pokemon? Simple.
With Rare Candy. And another Rare Candy. And another. And another. And another. And then BOOM! Level 100.
That's how you treat your Pokemons.
