I just got email from the folks behind the g33kwatch podcast announcing that their 2nd annual Mass Effect marathon for Child's Play will start on 12:01 am (Eastern Time, I think) on November 25th.
I watched their 1st event last year, and it was fun. Much like Desert Bus for Hope, it's a bunch of friends crowded into one room for way too long while playing a game and completing embarrassing challenges to raise money for Child's Play. The difference is that they play ME1 and ME2, so the games are more interesting-and they let the viewers and donors have a say in the games' moral choices. If any of you are somehow still conscious after watching this year's Desert Bus, check it out: http://masseffect.g33kwatch.com/

Re: Mass Effect Marathon
That's pretty cool. It'd work better if there was more talking and less shooting in the games, but still, sounds like a fun one. Maybe I'll check it out, I've just been replaying ME2 myself.

Re: Mass Effect Marathon
Watched a bit of it last year after DB, they smashed their original target in under a day, which was quite funny. It was an enjoyable watch, although I only caught a small amount of it.

They're auctioning off a handcrafted model of the Normandy from Mass Effect 2 in an 45 minutes.
And tomorrow at 7am Pacific Time, a plush Tali.
