*sniffle* It's overrrrrrrrrr! Wahhhhhhhhh.
I guess I should get to bed, have to get up in 3 hours to work. Bah. Humbug.
That was a really touching last hour. It got me a little choked up. And that's not easy to do!

Desert Bus ended on "I need an adult." My work here is done.
Re: Desert Bus
Loved the stinger, I feel odd now, like theres something missing, aside from it being REALLY quiet. like the quiet after a rock show. It's odd.
I WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR. And I promise you one day I will be there.. one day

Re: Desert Bus
It's 3:30am as I write this...so yea...
There are only 2 times a year when I get this foreboding sense of something being missing, once in June, when the 24hrs of Le Mans ends, and after Desert Bus...So now, like probably more than would like to admit it, after a week of being tied to one event, I'm going to have to go through the withdrawal symptoms, that little itch of something being missing and wrong...
Thank You, LRR and Crew, for all that you do.

Hey guys,
I haven't visited the forums for who knows how long but I wanted to come back to tell you it has been great watching Desert Bus with you guys, and that this is probably the best online community I have ever found. Congrats on raising so much for the children, and thanks everyone for putting this on for us. You're all amazing.

Re: Desert Bus
I went to bed about 8 and a half hours ago when DB was just over 300k, saddened that I wouldn't see the end of Desert Bus, but accepting they wouldn't be able to find the extra two hours and tens of thousands of cash.
Woke up, had a shower, sat down wet and naked to see what the total was... and it was still going! I caught the Final Busdown and other buts and pieces! It was Awesome! All while wet and naked! Anything I say now will just be variants of "YOU'RE AWESOME! LOVE YOU!" but it's true, you raised 376,000 for charity! Next year you'll have raised over a million in life time totals. There are so many children better off because of you and you are awesome!
Love you LRR!

Re: Desert Bus
It's funny, but I never knew what James did. I knew he drove the bus and I knew he must do a lot with it, but now I know. He gets sh*t done. I was wondering who was ultimately the glue that kept the whole event together. Kudos, James. If you ever need a job in Chicago, I'll bang heads until I find you a job where I work.
It's so easy to forget that the LRR Crew is young. I knew a few people when I was that age that could probably handle the responsibility they've all taken on, but it was 1 in 100, at best. At this point there's no bussing reason to believe they won't somehow find a way to eclipse $400,000 next year, if not $500,000.

Re: Desert Bus
That... was the best 7 days of this past year. Huge congratulations guys! You did a phenomenal job! I was looking forward to this all year and it lived up to, and surpassed the hype yet again.
Your steadfast dedication to this cause and the conviction with which you committed yourselves to this fundraiser is a credit to gamers, geeks, nerds, wubbers, qwopers, derpers, and to internet culture as a whole.
I know you guys don't even want to think about it... but I for one cannot wait to see what new wonders and terrors will be unleashed next year!
Thank you again for your tireless efforts and the sleepless days you put into this.
Thar be giants in Victoria...

Re: Desert Bus
I was really annoyed because I thought I'd end up missing the end because I needed to go to sleep so I could wake up for work. Was not expecting it to be still going when I woke up. Or to be close to tears this early in the morning.
Great job guys!

I cried, I will admit it.
As a small, small public service, here's The Final Busdown (sadly without stinger 'cause I am dumb and missed it):
