We've been meaning to tell you for a while Dream, we just didn't know the right time. We're sorry to crush your young ideals.
The most unique, nicest, and confusing individual you will get to know. Don't be stupid around me, that's my job.

Correct Mr Sha, these fellows are not members of the Real IRA, but members of the Provisional Irish Republican Army.
We are all made of star dust. However we are also made of nuclear waste.

Re: Stop SOPA
That's why I call them fake, they're not real terrorists. Where's there maniacal plan for extreme destruction, their super doomsday weapon and their silly accents? People today, just because you have decided on an acronym doesn't make you a terrorist. Poor poor fools.

The only person proposing anything similar is Newt Gingrich with his plans for a moon colony.

Betcha he's got a white cat he strokes when in his private lair...
But back to the various bullshit "let's presume guilty until proven innocent" anti-piracy legislation, Whil Wheaton spoke quite well on all this with The Young Turks.

Oh, and this has some good points that have yet to be brought up: MPAA & its member studios have been consistently wrong about every change in their industry...

Posting a new thread so it gets the attention it deserves.
PS If that info graphic weren't so huge...it may get more shares. View image makes it tiny but the magnify makes it too big to read.

Re: Stop SOPA
Yeah, yeah; I necro'd. But guess what: so did the thugs at the RIAA...
If they can't buy legislation, they'll just buy *voluntary* monitoring from ISPs themselves. (Republicans should be happy that the middleman gov't got cut out of the equation altogether)
I bet it never actually gets enforced, any more than the existing clauses in EVERY ISP's Terms & Conditions about "Disseminating material which violates copyright or intellectual property rights." or "upload, post, publish, transmit, reproduce, create derivative works of, or distribute in any way information, software or other material obtained through the Service or otherwise that is protected by copyright or other proprietary right, without obtaining any required permission of the owner;", etc. etc.
Bit of a tempest in a teapot, but it still rankles that these sleazy unethical bastids are willing to sink lower than the file-sharers. I really hope they goad and coerce an ISP into serious infringement and wrongful accusations of someone merely suspected of filesharing, and they all get their hinds hauled into court.
