Random Internet celebrity sighting

I passed by someone I think was James Portnow from Extra Credits while walking across the street in Seattle this morning. I wanted to stop and say, "hey, you're that guy from that show on the Internet. You rock." But I couldn't think of a way to start that conversation without it being really awkward and creepy. And if I stopped him to say hello in the middle of the crosswalk, and he got run over by a car when the light changed, that would be even more awkward.

I go to school somewhere near where Mario Batali either lives or works, because I see him walking around the neighborhood a lot, and every time I see him I want to say "Hey! You're Mario Batali!"
...but he knows that already.

I saw several LRR crewmembers riding the Duck once, but I was in a car and I couldn't say anything.

Not quite internet celebrity, but I saw Michael Rosen on my train into London yesterday. Unfortunately he was talking to his assistant the entire journey and I didn't want to interrupt them...

Nifty. You're sure it was the guy from Extra Credits?

I've run into Ben Heck a few times by chance. Even helped him set up his pinball machine at the Midwest Gaming Classic once. He's a pretty cool guy & seems to take the random recognitions in stride.

I have seen Yahtzee complete with hat and jacket walking the streets of Brisbane. I almost glomped him but since I was with my boyfriend (at the time) and a three yo I was good. I'll regretted that ever since.

Also Yahtzee owns a bar in Brisbane (for those who live under a rock, it's called the Mana Bar) which I have been to and seen him at.

This. Plus I've helped in convention programming for Vancouver's largest fan conventions.

I saw David Stratton from At The Movies in JB HI FI a couple of weeks ago. He was coming back to get his umbrella he left at the checkout. XD

KirkyGirl hailing Matt when I was in Victoria, that was the random point.

I saw a guy that looked remarkably like Morgan once, But being in Australia it couldn't have been.

That's about the extent of internet celebrities I've met.

I thought I saw a Tim Sevenhuysen in a field once. It turned out to just be a Matt Wiggins.

Wrong. It's a wild Mutt Woggins.

That's good, then. Because you know what they say; For every Matt Wiggins you see, there's 20 you can't.

But Mutt Woggins are so cute! I know someone who had one as a pet.

I caught them that one. I left a Final Fantasy game out as bait on top of a bear trap. Works every time.

...Dude, it's Morgan. He could be anywhere doing anything with (To) anyone, because he's Morgan.

Also that being said I met the dude who played Van Goth on Doctor Who on a train going to Southern Cross about 6 months ago... So yeah, Australia, the most random people you can imagine in completely random places...

I've been trying that for months. Maybe this copy of FF8 has gone off...

I was waiting for that joke
I've met only a local broadcaster for AZ 3 news twice. Some people from the gumball 3000 (which involved rangers and going 100+ through the gate) and.. that's about it

I've also seen a guy who looked remarkably like Morgan. But I'm in a different part of Australia, so I doubt it was even a single Morgan doppelganger. How many Morgans can there be?

I've never met Internet celebrities... except at cons I guess.
I met a bunch of French celebrities nobody here would know (except other French people) when I lived in Paris.
I also met Angelina Jolie in Paris in like 2006, she visited a museum with one of her kids and I was visiting the same one at the time.

I went to the Daily Show and Colbert Report so I "met" most people there, although I only personally spoke with John Oliver and Stephen Colbert.

Morgan probably hires body doubles so that he's spotted a bit everywhere in the world and nobody knows where he actually is.

Well I did a job shadow at the National Theatre for a week where I met Benedict Cumberbatch, Anthony Horowitz and saw, but didn't meet, John Barrowman. I've met Bill Bailey and Neil Innes after shows. I've also been to a Dead Weather concert (Jack White, what up) where Jude Law was in attendance and a few feet away from me. I've also been passively insulted by Prince Andrew. Since coming to New York I've met or had Q&As with Chrstine Lahti (Oscar Winner), Frank Langella (Nixon in Frost/Nixon) and will be seeing Jesse Eisenberg (Social Network, Zombieland) week after next. The other day I also saw Jim Jeffries do stand-up and met him in the bar before hand.

On top of that I met Graham and Kathleen at LRRndon, the latter of which I had a fascinating discussion about architecture with.

But I don't like to brag...

Edit: Also I saw Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen do Waiting for Godot a couple years ago. Was awesome.

But I don't like to brag...

Pretty sure I saw George Houvardas (he plays Nick Karandonis on Packed To The Rafters for those of you who live in Australia and are playing at home) in a Sydney train station once.

Other than that, yeah just meeting people after shows and at festivals and that. Arj Barker, Lano and Woodley, The Wombats, Art vs Science, Birds of Tokyo, Darwin Dees to name a few.
