Thank you Desert Bus Chat and LRR

Because of you guys, I didn't feel so alone on Thanksgiving. Due to a communication error with my advisor, I ended up spending Thanksgiving by myself. My advisor thought I was going home for Thanksgiving, so he ended up with too many people in his house to have me over for Thanksgiving as he had originally planned. While cooking my dinner, I actually came close to crying, thinking no one cared about me. But watching Desert Bus, and chatting with my fellow LRRers helped put a smile on my face.

I remembered that if nothing else, my internet friends were there!

Just wanted to thank everybody for making my Thanksgiving!

PS Sorry if this sounds like a pity party. :oops:

Awwwwe, honestly I felt the same way during Desert Bus. I did not have Thanksgiving dinner, and instead ordered a personal pan pizza for myself. I think I got the pity look from the pizza guy. I didn't feel alone AT ALL though because I was in contact with thousands of people and LRR. <3

It's a weird (but great) feeling that I for one consider the LRR crew to be friends even though I've never met them (when are you guys coming back to London!) mainly on the basis of things like Desert Bus.

Not too sure what that says about me but there it is.

I realized early on that this is a caring, supportive and friendly community, and it didn't take long before I started feeling right at home here. I felt like I didn't have to hide things about myself in fear of being ridiculed, and I still do feel that way.

I love this place, because of the people that make it, and even if I can't be -everyones- best friend I really do cherish each and everyone of you, and care deeply for you all. We're a community in the best sense of the word, and we look after each other.
