So I'm walking up the street downtown, and one of those UNICEF solicitor folks (in the bright coloured vests) greets me with "hello dapper sir! Can I ..."

I'm in my red wings, jeans, a burgundy-red tee shirt, and light grey zip hoodie, layered under a traditional dark-navy surplus peacoat.

I barely even thought about my wardrobe when I put it together today, just dressed for the weather. Felt good man.

Just wanted your money, du.

Jk. It's funny how easy it gets to dress well once you have a basic selection of good stuff to wear. Brown leather shoe, good pants, button-down shirt, maybe a sweater, decent jacket, boom, you're doing better than 90% of people.

Totally wanted my money, but his choice of approach compliment was none the less appreciated. Doubly so because the compliment was a general 'you look put together' not a comment on a specific item. cohesion.

I /really/ need more shirts though.

My outfit was complemented!
Was wearing, dark wash jeans with "strategic" distress.
Canvas jack ive had for 5+ years layer over a GAP hoodie, over a fitted long sleeve shirt. And leather shoes.
It's funny because i threw it on and walked out of the apartment.

I should go out more often. I've a nice blue North Face summer shirt that goes really well with my hat and my good 3/4 shorts.

I live in Australia. AUSTRALIA. We NEED to wear shorts so our legs don't liquefy in summer.

But not 3/4 shorts. You never need to wear those.

Met, Matt, where should one buy shoes in Victoria? I lack the time for thrifting or Ebay.

Budget, type? Ingledews (Hillside Centre) carry Allen Edmonds, Clarks, Cole Haan, and Johnston & Murphy. I actually got my AE wingtips from Ingledews here in Burnaby - the location by my house is a clearance centre, so they have good deals.

Don't you remember the EXTENSIVE PM/Tweeting back and forth last year? It's in Brentwood mall, and II think they're having a sale right now - though they usually dump a bunch of shoes in January.

The man paid to see all of the twilight movies, I think he has earned a nice pair of shoes and a nice shirt or three.

Besides he is in art school aren't artist supposed to be broke until they get discovered and become bazillionairs?

Old Navy for solid colours that are cheap. American Aparel for sold colours that are expensive.

There is no universe in which that is a reasonable price to pay for a zip-up hoodie.

Sez you.

I don't think there's either of them in Stockholm unfortunately...
