Query for you all. I absolutely love the new shirts I had made for me but, alas, they are wrinkle magnets. As I've never really owned shirts that needed that level of care before, this has caught me flat-footed equipment wise. So my question is a recommendation for a good, idiot proof de-wrinkling solution. Prior experiences have shown irons and I are not friends. Also, any thoughts/ practice of the notion that leaving the shirts on a hanger in the bathroom whilst a shower can work?

You will need to learn to use an iron if you want your shirts crisp.

Do you know if there kinds of irons out there that are, for lack of a better term, overly user friendly? I still have a burn mark on my hand.

Oh... that's what I've been doing wrong.

In serious though, perhaps because everything I used before was hand-me-down, that looks wonderful to me as there's far less exposed metal.

Good casual shirts generally don't need an iron. Maybe the collars. Dress shirts absolutely do. Hanging in the bathroom helps with wrinkles.

Invest in a good iron and ironing board. I like to do it and watch a little tv at the same time. same thing with polishing shoes. Great Sunday afternoon activity.

Trousers with proper waists and adjustable side-tabs? Swoon. Unlined, fully-canvassed suit jackets? Sign me up!

Considering he claims you should be spending at least $3000 on a bespoke suit in the Western world, though... not exactly sustainable on my budget.

I didn't even know unlined suits were a thing.

I would like to be able to wear a suit year-round and not feel like I'm going to sweat through it, yes, thank you. Sign me up.

I must work hard to strike it rich, so that bespoke suits can be mine. XD

Question for you fashionable people: I'm generally clueless about what people wear these days. I recently inherited a leather coat from my father, and I have no idea when or if it's an acceptable thing to wear (other than on a motorcycle, which I don't foresee coming up anytime soon.) It's a pretty comfortable coat and I've been needing a new on anyway, so I'm curious if it is something that can be worn without making me look a few decades out of date.

It looks similar to this if memory serves me right, although I haven't seen it in a couple of weeks.

Neat. I'll try to get a picture in the next few days so that I can be properly judged.

Well, I've got the graphic tee and sweat pants on already... :P

So what would be an appropriate combination with a coat like that for average day to day situations?

A pair of dark wash jeans and a plain white teeshirt would work, though it would look
A bit greaser. Classic, but you'd have to want to rock it.

Otherwise, it's a pretty versatile casual-wear jacket, but that means "casual" in the nice jeans/ button downs/ wingtips way not the sweat pants and crocs way.

Forget what I said, LISTEN TO THIS MAN.

Seriously though, well-fitting, slim dark denim, plain gray v-neck t-shirt or a solid OCBD, and boots.

I haven't had a chance to post it yet, but Jesse Thorn had an EPIC rant about utilikilts on a recent Jordan, Jesse, Go! podcast (which you should really give a listen if you like comedy 'casts). It starts about 57:36 in, and it's amazing. May be slightly offensive to nerds.
