Ok, last time it was a gif, and people said it went by too quickly, so here it is, my whole lasagne recipe as a photo diary thingumie, with annotations

Collapsed for largeness
First make a bolognaise sauce

Chop up some stewing steak extra small and fry it (possibly add finely chopped chunky bacon at this point, use less oil to compensate)

Add chopped onion and red and green pepper (possible to add chopped mushroom, courgette or olives at this point, but only add olives VERY sparingly, chopped fine, and omit entirely if there's bacon, as there'd be too much salt)

Add these to the pan once the beef's gone grey

After a few minutes, the onions will go clear, then add black pepper, beef stock, 1 tin/packet chopped tomatoes, 1 tin/packed sieved tomatoes, one pot of tomato paste (do NOT substitute in ketchup, or face my ire)

Realise you forgot to add worcester sauce. Add some before leaving to stew while you make the bechemel

Then make a bechemel sauce

Get these ingredients

Melt precisely 'ye much' butter in a pan ("How much?" "Ye much")
Image

Add 'ye much' flour
Image

This sort of crumbly consistency should be achieved

Add milk a dash at a time
Image

Keep adding and mixing until a paste is achieved

BUT! I hear you shout, what if my roux has lumps? (a roux is what it is before you have added cheese)

If your roux is a little lumpy, first get a glass and add a good handful of frozen blackberries

Cover the blackberries with chilled gin
Image

Add tonic
Image

Hey look! No lumps!
Image

When you have used about 3/4 pint to of a pint of milk (I really never measure), add cheese

Then put it together and into the oven

Put a little less than half of the bechemel in a casserole dish

Add a layer of dry lasagna paste

Add half the bolognaise
Image

Another layer of dry lasagna
Image

Add a little less than half of the bechemel
Image

Add the rest of the bolognaise
Image

Final layer of dry pasta (I emphasise dry, because some people think you should precook the pasta)

Spread the remainder of the bechemel on top

Add grated cheese
Image

Put in the oven at 160°C, or 180°C if non-fan-assisted (which, in Farenheit is "many°F")

Bake until it starts to go past brown to start to go slightly black on top, then turn off the oven, and leave it in the warm oven to 'set' slightly, until it is cooled down to an eatable temperature (maybe 10-15 minutes?)

That looks great JayBlanc!
I make mine with ricotta and spinach (usually). Though once Bebop and I made a lasagna similar to the one you made.

I perfectly cooked a beautiful piece of tuna at work last night. Served it with a bit if edamame/horseradish puree on top. It was so pretty. Sadly I can't share a picture until I get my computer back.

Made beef stew for the first time. Turned out pretty well, though sweeter than I wanted (don't know what I expected from putting half a bottle of brown sauce in the slow cooker). Nothing a bit of extra salt and pepper can't help with, though.

I've figured out how to make Scotch eggs, and it turns out they're pretty good. Now I get to make them en masse as we're gonna feature them in at the pub I work at.

simple way to make scotch eggs:
Boil eggs for 5-6 minutes then carefully peel (they are very softboiled at this point). Keep in cool water until you need them.
Take yummy sausage meat out of the casing. Grab a ball and smooth it out into a thin patty.
Take an egg, roll it in flour, place in the center of a sausage patty. Wrap completely in sausage meat. If you have too much meat, just pull it off.
Be careful though, you can pop the eggs if you squeeze too hard. Repeat as many times as you want eggs.

If you want to be fancy, make your own sausage meat using ground meat products (beef, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey, etc.) and flavour as you like.

Bread these egg-shaped sausage balls (flour, egg wash, panko/breadcrumbs)
Deep-fry or pan fry to colour golden brown. Place in 350F degree oven for about 10 minutes-ish. They'll still be golden brown, and the egg yolk will still be a little runny. Bake longer if you want it fully cooked. Serve with mustard. Enjoy!

Interesting note: Scotch eggs are not Scottish, they were invented in London at Fortnum & Masons. Much in the same way the 'french' in 'french fries' refers to the way they are cut not the country, the 'scotch' in 'scotch egg' refers to the eggs being covered.

For the last couple of weeks I have eaten delicious filmjölk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filmjölk) for breakfast. It is as far as I know hard to come by here in California but I've managed to source some culture from another Swedish expat.
To make it, heat up milk to 95℃ for a couple of minutes and let it cool down to room temperature. Add about half a cup from previous batch and let it sit for around 20h in room temperature before putting it back into the fridge.

I wanted to make dinner for my girlfriend's family, so tonight I made a lasagna and garlic bread for the first time. They turned out well, I think! The reviews were quiet positive, at the very least. And I know I ate too much of the bread. :mrgreen:

Today I made mushroom and cream cheese filled meatloaf, with boiled brussel sprouts and a small amount of brown sauce. It was delicious, but alas I'm a dumbass and forgot to take a photo. ):

Made, certainly not, but my birthday cake was an experience.

It looked to me like a beautiful cake with chocolate icing and decorations on top, until I blew out the candles and my mother presented me with a hammer.

Upon striking the cake, I discovered that it was actually a milk chocolate exterior, containing a vast quantity of chocolate covered licorice, coffee beans, fruit and nuts.

You ever heard of the McGangbang from the "Secret" McDonalds menu? It's a McChicken sandwiched inside a McDouble. I wanted that, but I wanted better than McDs. So I stopped by Five Guys and Chick Fil A and made The Clogginator. With added fried egg because bite me.

I didn't take pictures to show them off, but when I found out my girlfriend had cheated on me I made my favorite, depression burritos!

20 dollars worth of whatever can or has been used in a burrito, made into burritos. Is it scary? Yes. Will your stomach hate you? Damn skippy. Was it tasty? You better believe it.
