New Years Resolutions?
Re: New Years Resolutions?
I resolve not to get trashed at my MO's (mysterious other) family party. So that's gonna take some work since I'm an ex-alcoholic. Looks like I wont be drinking NYE.

well, that lasted less that four hours. oops.
I fairness, it wasn't violent this time, but still...

Re: New Years Resolutions?
I haven't thought out the details yet but this year I want to make a fundamental change to my life. Whether that's a new job, new place to live or a new relationship I don't know but by the start of 2013 I want something in my life to be completely different to what it is now.

You should dedicate yourself to become the worlds worst professional football player.

I did that last year, Hosk.
I got a Beatles haircut. That was my resolution. Already accomplished. Take that everyone else.

I guess my plan for this year is to get married and to get divorced. Not sure if that counts as resolutions though.

I'm learning to knit. So far I've done a few rows of a black scarf and nothing's set on fire yet. Hopefully I'll be able to contribute to DB6

-Stop doing some drugs that I really really shouldn't be doing completely and forever.
-Stop seeing guy who is really bad for me.
-Also to actually attend classes at school instead of just taking notes from people and hoping for the best.
-See more of my friends that I've hardly been seeing even though I live in Vancouver and as do they.

Re: New Years Resolutions?
May I have more love, more faith, more hope, more generosity, more gentleness, more patience, more humility, and less pride, less greed, less sloth, and less envy.
May I be diligent in my work, patient in my marriage, selfless in my time, and faithful in my spiritual life.
May my convictions be harder, while my words become softer.
May I listen. May I obey. May I concede. May I surrender.
May I bear good witness. May I preach without words.
May this year be as good as the last, and better.

There's a lot of problems I could point out in that post but instead I'll just pull mine out:
My new year resolution is to have a better year than the last one, predominantly in romance and education.

Re: New Years Resolutions?
If you're referring to met's post, I'm not sure what you mean by that.
He merely stated (in a passive manner, I suppose) the things he would like to accomplish this year. How he would like to be. The traits which he desires to emulate.
I don't really see how there are any "problems" with that. It's not as though he's imposing his religion on us, or getting all holier-than-thou or anything. Your passing passive-aggressive comment leaves me perplexed.
And even if you meant it from a "that would be difficult to accomplish" point of view, who are we to judge? If he wishes to put in the time and resources necessary to accomplish these goals, well, more power to him. We all need goals, no matter how ambitious.

I did also say I wasn't going to get into it.

Re: New Years Resolutions?
My dream of becoming a drum teacher is actually around the corner. 5 years too early in my plans. Damn right I'm capable. I've got the experience, I'm the HIGHEST grade drummer, as are my future colleagues and I have actually taught before!
So this year? I'm taking it.

Re: New Years Resolutions?
Stop chewing my nails, get my license, pass first year of my degree (for real this time).
I don't have a lot of friends, just my fans. And they are all I need.
Re: New Years Resolutions?
I guess, if anything, I just hope that I see my friends more often. Being essentially alone for days on end drives me a little nuts.
Though I did spontaneously decide to throw away a bunch of crap I didn't need in my room any more on Jan 1st. Wasn't even a resolution, but I'll take it. The space looks a lot better now.

This. considering I work in retail, that's a bit hard to keep.
Mainly, try and actually DO something with my DJing this year.
Re: New Years Resolutions?
I'm resolved to be less frantic and anxious, to do my job without letting it rule my life and to improve at focussing on one thing at a time. I need to find a way to balance this whole earning a living thing with living my actual life. That's my project for the year, I think.
