O.K, that was a good enough explanation, but if damages in this adventure reach over a billion dollars, I'm standing by my statement that it would have been easier to pay him off.

Anyway:

Code: Select all

Go to the nearest seedy joint (possibly Costa Coffee) and get information about The Baron's scheme from local underworld goons, by whatever means necessary

Sorry for the lack of updates. I should probably stop saying "I'll get some done by x." :?

Some of you may have noticed elsewhere that I've been trying to move the art style towards something I like better, something I can do faster, and something that looks... more fun and iconic, rather than flat and characterless. If you're interested, you can see that stuff on my Tumblr.

I've kinda been avoiding the next slough of panels, actually, and I'll tell you why; I have hardly ever done any animating, and I'm not sure how well I'll pull it off. I also know how much of a slog it can be, and I'm not fond of tedium.

However, I am going to get to it. I want to go on this journey with you all, and I want to surprise and entertain you, and be surprised and entertained. ;)

Still getting the hang of animating things. And continuing to produce something regularly. Expect me to improve in fits and starts, and gradually.

Some of you may note a slight change in the art. My intention is that it be an improvement.

I can't really stress enough how much animated comics irk me. I would much rather read panel by panel at my own pace without feeling rushed. Or something that wouldn't irritate me to leave on my screen passively while I do something else.

Photoshop. CS3. It's not great, but has been able to do what I need up 'till now, which admittedly is not a lot.

Oh! Sorry Lorithad. I totally didn't notice your post until I checked the thread just now. :?

Sorry you don't like animated comics. However, I like having a way to show a little bit of movement inside a frame. I think it helps me, since I've very little practice showing actually motion in comics.

It's entirely likely that as I get better I'll stop using it, and it's much more likely that the time and effort it takes will stop me long before then.

However. They're here for now, and I hope they won't put you off reading the comic.

Okay, assuming that thing in the inventory does what I think it does:

Code: Select all

PDA: Search for the location of Baron von Death's laser.

Sorry everyone who's suggestions kinda match what's going on; I am tired and couldn't be bothered collating them all. :P

More coming soon! I have another panel done, but adding it wouldn't make sense on it's own; it needs more after it.

I'll be perfectly honest, I'm not a fan of animated comics either. But there really isn't that much way to indicated movement ina single pannel format. It would be much more dynamic if you went to a multi panel page format, like a standard comic book. But that would loose the video game feel that you're going for. Honestly, and I know why you're doing it, I think the forum is not the best venue for this. It's hard to follow :(

If you could code something that allowed menus and inv. access on every page, just a little popup to see what's there, nothing really interactive, that might help the feeling of rushedness.

Like a kid's picture popup book, rather than an animation. Also, in a different venue, you would only have one page at a time displayed. So continuing forward to the next page would feel more like frame advancement rather than a repeat of, what's basicly the same image with text.

I think giving readers control over animation would be a good idea.

No idea how to do this.
