I put on my anti-fire outfit, run up to Elomin and kick him in the between-the-legs area. Simple.

Club soda is basically carbonated water with baking soda right?

So we can use the boiling point elevation formula for ionic compounds:

DeltaT=IKm

DeltaT is the change in temperature, I is the vant hoff factor(about 1 for baking soda) K is the Ebullioscopic constant(.512 for liquid water) and m is Molals of solute(I'm asuming significantly less than 1 mole per kg of water).

So Club soda would have a very slightly higher boiling point than water, but still higher none the less.(If you're wondering what effect the carbonation has on the boiling point it should have none. It will just leave solution faster as the club soda gets closer and closer to boiling.)

Oh no I messed up. The Vant hoff factor is closer to 2 than one. Still a less than one degree C raise in boiling point.

Geoff since club soda doesn't have an appreciably higher boiling point than water you may as well use water against Elomin's fire.

You should be considering the specific heat required to heat club soda to its boiling point and the enthalpy of vaporisation required to boil club soda rather than just its boiling temperature.
