LRR World Map

Postby Jenelmo » 22 May 2012, 04:05

I was thinking that it would be fun if you could get a world map, and the forum could color/fill in their country of origins, so we could see how far LLR has spread.
Does anybody know a way that could be done, maybe a website that could do it???

Edit:

You could just create a public map on google maps and have people drop pins on their approximate location, or exact location if they're happy giving strangers their addresses.

Waaaay waaaay back (in 2005, I checked) I made a map and forumites tagged where they lived, but it seems like the site is no longer around. Too bad.

At the time we got all excited about having someone in the UK, haha. Oh how times have changed.

EDIT: After some looking around it doesn't seem like there's any equivalent to the site I used before. Just mapping Facebook friends...

Tried to put mine in the water, misclicked and plopped in on an island instead :P. Ah well. I was only going for the general location anyway.

Edit: Oh no, turns out if I zoom in far enough I am in the water. Yay! *Splash splash!*

I love that I picked a ghost, and my location is not visible when the map appears.

Added, at least generally. I mean, I drive by the place the place where my marker is all the time.

After listing my location as Western PA, it reminded me of a time back in college when a friend said to me, "I think Pennsylvanians are the only ones who refer to their state by it's abbreviation. Why can't I do that?" She was from Kentucky, and I had to explain to her why saying something like, "I can't wait to get home to K-Y!" might be misinterpreted.
