I can finally have sex again! Which makes my boyfriend very happy since he's been bugging me for the past 4 weeks.

As for intercourse at the family's place, if you have your own room and you're quiet, I see no problem. Especially if you're married or been together for quite a few years. Though I do recommend being discreet. Having sex is one thing; having loud, 'violent' sex, quite another.

I think it's worth realising that your parents know about sex; they've had it, probably waaaaay more than you. They know you're having sex with your partner, they don't care. They'd rather not hear it or about it and would rather you be discrete, but they're hardly going to object to the fact that you're doing it, especially if you're an adult and can make your own decisions. If you're young enough that your parents don't think you should be having sex, or with someone that your parents would rather you didn't have sex with, they're probably right. Obviously in some cases they're wrong and your free to decide that, but that's a whole other issue.

Also, after a few weeks where my gf's sex drive was getting low, it's fired back into top gear recently, so ALL the sex for me

Does anyone else have a strong sexual connection to fairly innocuous scents? I've been noticing it happening to me more and more. Something today just has me going. I think it might be the smell of the dye in my jeans or shirt since it's brand new. The smell of the rubber on the lifting plates at my gym does it to me too.

I can't believe I totally missed the part about parents/in-laws.

I never had sex with my own parents around because I've never spent the night at my parents' place with someone else (I don't spend the night there very often).

But I've spent the night at my first husband's parents' place, including a couple of months of living with them when we were looking for a new place, and I lived with my second husband's mother for a few years until she died, so I've had experience with sex when in-laws are around.

Typically... I just don't really care. They know we have sex. I will not scream or walk around naked or holding sex toys or whatever if they're likely to see me, but other than that, I'm not going to change anything.

The first time was pretty exciting, because we were just visiting my in-laws, and it was a different bed, and well it's a bit like when you're in a hotel, it's just different and exciting I guess? And the idea we might get caught only made it better in a way.

Then it just was normal. When I was living with my second mother-in-law, it was my place and my bed, and so there was nothing exciting about it. Her room was facing ours and I guess she might have been able to hear sometimes, although I think she probably never did because she always watched shows super loudly (which predates my moving in with my husband, so it's not like she did it in order not to hear us).

She knew we were doing it but I never felt awkward or embarrassed about it. I never talked about it explicitly either.

I think if you're in your own place (as in, you contribute to it, etc), it's very different than when you're still living at your parents' place (rather than with them). There is an idea of "it's my place, I have sex if I feel like it" vs "it's their place, they might require me to keep it in my pants or if I get caught they could potentially kick me out or something".

But I was always an adult when things like that happened (I moved out of my parents' place before I first had sex) so I never had to worry about it I guess.
