I can understand that opinion. Part of the reason I got my nipples done is that I really, really disliked my breasts. I think they look much nicer now, and I think I'll like them even better when I can put sparkly jewelry in.

I also have nipple bars and a genital piercing, but unlike you (I'm so jealous) the genital piercing has only had negative effects. For the first few months I couldn't come at all, then orgasms did happen with somehow without any pleasure associated (and with some pain) and gradually after a year it's reached a point where some pleasure happens, but it's a shadow of what it used to be.

Quite sad since I'm not into piercings in the first place, but got convinced because I thought it would enhance my sex life (all the men I've been with say I come less often and less hard than any other women they've been with).

Sadly it was the opposite that happened, and I went through a lot of pain and forced abstinence for nothing

And I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience with the genital piercing! Maybe you need different jewelry - a shorter or longer curved barbell, a straight barbell, a circular barbell or captive bead ring. Try different stuff!

However unlike most "common" piercings, nipple, and genital in particular can cause irreparable damage to the nerve endings. The reason they can feel so amazing is the extra stimulation of those nerve clusters. Your earlobe, nose, or eyebrow is considerably less sensitive and the likelihood of you hitting but not destroying a nerve is low.

As such the hole can heal up, but the damage often remains, it doesn't get "Worse" unless there is damage or tearing as a result of the jewelry, but it also is very unlikely that it will "get better" were as you leave your earring out and it heals up, you pretty much just get your earlobe back.

That shouldn't be an issue if you get a piercer who knows what they're doing. I also feel like that makes it seem as though nerve issues are far more common than they actually are. Also, with hood piercings, the clit isn't actually pierced. So any desensitization would be caused by the constant stimulation from the jewelry, and should go away when the jewelry is gone.
