Honestly, I'm not sure if they're completely healed yet. They're still sore every so often and during periods.

Do genital piercings close if you don't use them?

Depends on the person. Technically they do, but there are people who have removed piercings and still been able to put them back years later, while other types of piercings (such as on your face) can close in a few minutes to a few hours even if you've had them for years (happened to my husband. Removed his earrings for an interview, couldn't put them back once the interview was over.)

Stretched ear lobes are a bit different. If they're not stretched very much, the whole will get smaller and smaller and can close up, and you'll have to re-stretch them if you want to. Past a certain point, though, they just won't close up even if you don't wear jewelry in them.
I guess technically that's true of every piercings, but there are many that you just can't stretch to that extent to begin with.

I'm not a fan of giant ear gauges. To me they either look disgusting or distracting. I once saw a guy who had obviously recently taken out his ear gauges, and it was positively nauseating.

I've seen people rock smaller gauges and look good, but I just don't like the way they look in general.

Gauges is just...no. Gauge is a unit of measurement. Like, I had to take my plugs out this week because my ears were really dry, but before I took them out I wore 4g.

Gauge is the unit of measurement, plug/tunnel/whatever is the jewelry, but the piercing is just a stretched earlobe piercing. So, I wore 4g plugs in my piercing.

I suspect thats like coke. its has a meaning but some areas use the word as though it had a different meaning. a rose by any other name.

for example a tunnel is open a plug is solid. but many people say plug open or closed. its all about what the people around you say and understand.
