It's her shit, leave it in your mailbox, tell her it's there and she can pick it up whenever. Why would you go out of your way and comfort for this?

Even if you're irrevocably going to that city you don't HAVE to see her.

Okay, just go see her. You don't have to talk. Just hand it to her and walk away. Awkward situations like this are a part of life and build character.
Maybe it is because I'm a family lawyer and I hear stuff like this all the time, but it isn't going to hurt you. I get this all the time from a lot of my clients and then I have to explain that I have another client that has to take the child, her child, of the man who has beat and raped her and has threatened to kill her and her family to go see that man because the court ordered her to do so. Then, they're okay having to deal with something like this. I'm not trying to belittle your emotions, but, in situations like this, it makes me feel okay about dealing with the awkward.

If you dont hit her in the face with the book then walk away tossing your arms out to the side imagining her being enveloped in a slowly erupting fireball, you are clearly over her.

Thanks for all the support folks, really
I wanted to hand it to her because I have a bad habit of avoiding my problems which I'm trying to break out of.
Turns out I was blowing it out of proportion as she just wanted to get it out of the way as much as I did. She gave me a chocolate bar for my trouble which I gave to a homeless person as soon as we parted ways. I'm just happy that that chapter of my life is over now.

Dude, you need to run and hide, I just came across this on the BBC
Homeless man found dead with half eaten poison candy bar in hand. Police suspect this may be part of a larger plot to kill off the homeless...

I am extremely sleep deprived but I still have to go into the license office today. I renewed my driver's license back in July. The new one hasn't shown up and my old one expires on Monday.

I am way too hormonal, grumpy, fat, tired, overheated and stressed to be dealing with a 4 year old that doesn't listen to me.

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules
... I was not expecting so many people to feel they have a right to dictate my wedding.
Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules
Is it bad that my initial thought was to create a scenario where your four year olds hurt themselves if they don't listen? Not like, a lot of hurting. . .
Also,
You sure did better than my cousin's ex who ignored her texts and calls for six months before returning her book. That was a great way to create massive resentment between all parties.

As my Dad said to me once, "You will have no say in what happens at your wedding. Everything will be organised by your soon to be mother-in-law, and you just suck it up and agree."

Re: Venting Thread Delta - Now With Easy to Follow Rules
Here is the piece of advice I gave my sister in law last month on her wedding day.
For the next three days all you will be able to think about is what went wrong in the wedding.
In four days you will be like "what was I thinking that wedding was perfect!"
in a year all anyone will remember is "I was at that wedding, and there were bridesmaids and groomsmen."

Uh, the only person who is to dictate anything about a wedding is the bride.

With anyone else, try putting a hand on each of their shoulders, looking them straight in the eye and saying "With the greatest of respect, it's not your decision, it's the bride's decision and that is an end to it".
It's a ballsy move, but get it right and you're sorted. Oh, also: Congratulations on getting married!
I solemnly promise not to stick my oar in with suggestions, if it helps.
Edit:Wait... shit.... that first bit WAS a suggestion! Gah! I'm rubbish! Sorry, feel free to ignore me

You have no idea how many times that has happened.
"Stand up, or you will fall", kid doesn't stand properly, falls and gets hurt. "I told you so".
"Stop screaming or you will hurt your throat" 5 minutes later kid is complaining he's thirsty and his throat hurts. "I told you so".
"Watch where you're going or you'll crash into something". Kid runs into wall and falls down. "I told you so".
4 year olds don't seem to grasp logic unless it's their logic.

Fortunately she's from Belfast and so is very good at sounding threatening. We are very stubbornly doing it our way, just a few people who think that we should do things that would make them happy and not us.
Which makes me sound slightly selfish argh.

Latest reports are saying 81 homes lost in the Winmalee area, with a further 37 damaged.
