Spun off from the LRR Pester thread, go ahead and cast your vote for which Australian state PAX Australia will be in.

Edited to remove the poll and make this a generic PAX Australia post

I went with Northern Territory because those 8 people really need SOMETHING to talk about.

The entire thing is actually going to be held at Yahtzee's house.

Upside: Awesome.
Downside: Tickets never even go on sale, being 'sold out' to guests. Turns out "PAX Australia" is a tax writeoff to one of Jerry Holkins's parties and nothing more.

You might want to change the title to something specific to PAX-AU... otherwise it triggers quite the WTF...

I looked at the two major possibilities, as I see them: Sydney and Melbourne. The first hit on a search for convention centers in both cities shows me that you have Melbourne with the larger expo floor. As for airfare, from Seattle as a base, Sydney is at least $300 to $500 cheaper. So what should it come down to? For me, I think the smaller of the two cities is better, and Melbourne is smaller by about half a million people.

I'll wait to see what events and guests are announced before I decide on going. It also depends when SMASH is on next year; it's usually the same time of year, but I think it's been pushed back to August for 2013.

Ok now that we know where it is, cue the speculation about who and what will be there?

The only event so far announced is The Omegathon. I would assume as it their con Gabe and Tycho would be there. Much like the Escapist Expo I would also guess that they would make some effort to bring in people who contribute to Penny Arcade so people like Extra Credits and LoadingReadyRun could be there.

The problem with LRR going is that only like 1/3 of their fanbase is Australian and of those only like 7/8ths have expressed an interest in them coming down under.

probably not enough interest to make that trip ;)

As awesome as PAX Aus sounds, I think it'd be a "someday maybe" trip for me. I wouldn't go there just to spend the weekend - PAX Aus would have to be part of a bigger sightseeing trip if I were to go. Think I'll stick to East (and sometimes Prime) for now. :)

But for anyone planning to go, take lots of pics and video!! :D

So, it's been a while. Who has tickets and the like? I'm in for all three days.

As much as I want to go, I unfortunately just don't have the money to attend.

I have a Saturday pass. I will probably also get a Sunday Pass if they don't sell out before I get paid again. Not sure about Friday yet.

So, guests and booths. So far I believe the confirmed list is:

o. Halfbrick Studio (local game devs)
o. Mc Frontalot (makes sense)
o. The Protomen (never even heard of them)
o. Rooster Teeth (makers of Red vs. Blue)
o. Madman (local distributors of anime)
o. Gabe and Tycho themselves.

Anyone anybody is looking forward to?
