Dear Loading Ready Run forums,

I am a crossdresser.

It's something that I've kept secret for many years, terrified that people would judge me. My life has taken some weird turns in the recent past, and I'm sick and tired of hiding it.

I am a healthy, 20 year old male who likes to feel girly every now and then. I like to wear dresses and skirts, and my fakes breasts can rival the best of them.

I don't know how to do makeup or hair, but I'm learning, and I'm always open to tips and advice.

Some of you might have seen my post in the cosplay thread in which I attended a Star Wars convention dressed as Slave Leia.

I'm sure you all took it as a joke. That's what that was, but most of you were very positive and supportive of it, and that in itself gave me the confidence to make this topic.

Some of you were...less so. I don't hold it against you, but it hurt in a way that you had no way of knowing.

So I stand before you now, a 20-year-old crossdresser using his real name and location, sharing a picture to you all, awaiting the response of the general populace at my most personal revelation.

To each their own. And honestly, as a cosplayer you should know crossplaying is pretty well accepted (except by pricks and elitist dicks). That's why I love our community (the cosplay and this one).

Well, that was my first and so far only cosplay. But if I ever pluck up the nerve, I might post a pic or two of myself fully dressed up. I'm not quite drunk or confident enough for that at the moment.

Okay first of all, you picked the right forum to announce this on. And if anyone gives you a hard time on it, report them. You will not need to worry about them later as they will be removed near immediately (not that any HINTING is needed). Welcome.

Second of all, look up makeup tutorials on YouTube. Hank Green's Katniss Everdeen tutorial is a funny one to watch. There are also some great makeup tutorial books in the local library, and if anyone looks sideways at you, say "it's for research for movie makeup" or "I'm thinking about getting into special effects as a career."

Finally, dressing up all girly like is fun, isn't it? Just look at Jim Carey when he was in Jenny McCarthy's bathing suit.

Question! Because I'm curious about these things.
Are you gay? Or are you not, as is the case with most cross-dressers?

I find the border between cross-dressers (generally straight) and drag queens (generally gay) an interesting one. Curious where the line is, if there is one at all.

I don't think it's a line so much as a preference. As he stated, sometimes he feels girly enough to dress as such. (not trying to talk down to you so please take this as such)Not all gays are cross dressers and not all cross dressers are gay. You've been to enough cons to see crossplayers, some do it just because they can, he does it because he feels comfortable (is what I'm taking from it)

Go you! As a woman who frequently wears guys clothes, I do not understand the hangups people have about what other people look like. You, sir, are probably more successful at being girly than me, and there ain't a thing wrong with that.

I'm glad that you found the courage to speak about this here. You're awesome, and anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong.

I never understood why it has to be such a big deal when guys wear women's clothes. Females walk around in guys clothes all the time, and if one can do that then why can't the other? It feels like a natural thing to just let people wear what they want to wear! So you keep doing what you're doing and be who you are! ^^

I didn't mean to single you out in the OP. It was more of a poorly-worded statement about people in general not always reacting well when they find out. (My mother, for instance)

Funnily enough, the answer is yes! I'm bisexual.

As far as my placement on the Drag Queen-Crossdresser scale goes, I definitely fall toward the crossdresser side. The difference is mostly in application.

Drag queens usually do their thing as a statement of their sexuality or for a performance.

Crossdressers like me do it because it's what we feel comfortable in.
