LRRcast withdrawal?

Postby MarkVI » 30 Oct 2012, 07:24

Perhaps I am just stirring up the proverbial bee's nest by bringing this up near desert bus time, but it has been quite a while since the last pod/vidcast. Regardless, is there going to be another podcast anytime soon?

Does anyone else shares such sentiments of despair? I guess the Pax Prime panel sort of counts though.

But seriously, I was just curious what future plans there might be for such releases, and maybe a cast member might be able to shed some light on the matter.

You could always download the torrent of Desert Bus 5 and rewatch the entire thing in preparation for Desert Bus 6.

If I recall correctly graham said that the loading times answer most of the questions about the videos specifically so the LRR casts just kinda became redundant/asklrr's.

They think ask lrr is fine and fun but with the loss of Matt, Kathleen having a "real job" and the additional work load of more projects they dont have the time.

Also remember that during Desert Bus there will be PLENTY of time for more AskLRR than you will know what to do with. It's basically AskLRR 24/7. Start writing down you questions now, they always run out after the first four or so days. There are only so many random questions to be asked....

With just the four regulars ATM I'm kind of worried about whether they can keep it up. I hope they don't burn out, especially with DB coming up.

Actually they're probably extra-double busy trying to build up a Desert Bus buffer of videos.

sounds like they have filmed ahead all the LRR and Unskippables they need, havent heard anything about Checkpoint or feed dump. But those two are both more "current events" shows

Met, with the correct answer!

We have not cancelled the LRRcast, they're just on an unintended, unannounced hiatus while we shoot ALL the videos.

RapidFire series 3 anyone?
(Seriously, due to the nature of RF3, it's nuts to be shooting THIS much content, and still not having an episode to show...)

Also, we're getting a fancy new soundboard and are going to try and make the LRRcasts even better!

This is what I figured, glad to hear your going to improve the LRRcasts. Can't wait for RapidFire 3, I'm sure all your hard work will be worth it.

Definately grabbing that torrent. Now when my son begs for LRR, I can sit him down with hours of amusement.

Gods yes, I'm in shivers.
The worst thing is that there's a LRRcast that's new for me up on the site, I just can't access it due to Blip issues.

I've had to go haunt the Desert Bus irc just to get the shaking to stop...

5 seeds and 3 peers in swarm. I'm uploading to 2 of 3 peers.

If it doesn't work, there's also a youtube version.

Weird... I've tried kTorrent, Transmission, and Deluge, all with no success.

Yeah, unless the power went out at home, I am definitely seeding the torrent. Hope you get it to work, AdmiralMemo.

It sounds like you're behind a firewall or two. Some ISPs will block all content to certain ports (8000's, I think?) and your router may be blocking all of the ports that you don't specifically unblock by default. Some googling should help you figure out if you need to change/open your ports.

Some restrictive networks, like universities, pretty much firewall off every non-standard ports and there really isn't any way to get around that.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no.

Weirdly, I did bring it up as a possibility for a returning character! So we're on some kind of wavelength. But we already had too many good "someone talking" bits.

Haha awww. You guys taught me the word hagiography with that bit, you know! I laughed so hard at it, it will stick in my mind forever. LRR is educational!

But I love everything about Rapidfire, especially the format, that we don't even need returning characters. It's going to be so much fun. Looking forward to it. A lot.
