Windows; an OS so ugly we have to change it every few years.

If you use Windows Media Center, Windows 8 will be an epic downgrade. Windows Media Center is now a downloadable "plugin". And it does not run in fullscreen mode any more, since they want to push 'full screen apps' to metro only. Of course, this entirely defeats the point of having Windows Media Center.

The slight kernel improvements are simply not worth the massive UI failures and removed functionalities of 8 over 7, and I'm sticking with 7 for my games and movies box. (Of course, I use a Mac to do actual real computer use...)

I just realized the poll asks "What's the best Wondows OS?". I may have to change my answer now.
All problems can be solved by trebuchets and/or fire.

As I'm now using Unix at work I am thankful for any version of windows. Unix isn't all that great either...

OS X is certified UNIX. Linux is effectively Unix.

I'm not entirely sure on the type of Unix. It's a SUN-oracle system.

Edit: a little further research indicates its SUN Solaris (probably Solaris 2.0)

Solaris....ehhhhh. I remember some old builds of that on some of the networks at the uni years back. Mostly the shiny new equipment over in the Math Dept. (where we tried out NCSA Mosaic for the first time and read up on gemstones. :) )
