*bot threads, but yeah; if there's any reply to the reported bot's posts, they'll remain, but the OP won't, so they reply looks exceedingly odd...

This thread is now about various types of hard cheeses. (though other cheeses are acceptable.)
I am really enjoying Kerrygold Dubliner. sharp like aged cheddar, but with the quality of parmesan.

I can't afford fancy cheese.
Though honestly I tend to like soft cheeses better. Chèvre is my favorite. :X

Did the above get edited in after Alex" made his statement???
I'm always fond of a nice aged, smoked cheddar, myself...anything that my own deli sells tends to be a rare treat for myself, too, though.

Fun (if tangential) fact - the Grand Junction in Iowa is a small town a very short drive from the small town where my wife grew up.

this is why I love you people.
@Empath, I'm pretty sure that was in my OP...
Yeah I mean fancy cheese is a treat for myself, but when I get to, wow is it ever delicious.

So, then, why is our gracious mod banning himself for staying within the bounds of the topic?

I think I'm pretty weird for the fact that I like Gouda... but I actually like grocery store sliced Gouda more than aged fancy Gouda.

My brain is not working very well this week. A combination of stress and low blood sugar from working long hours without eating. Sorry.

Fun story: in my freshman sophomore year of high school, we put on School House Rock LIVE Junior (which is to say "the kinda lame version" -- but we were lame like that, so it's okay). And I was one of the main six kids, and I sang Conjunction Junction, complete with a line of chorus girls dancing behind me. (I never got to see what they were doing, actually. I was always, y'know, singing.)

If it helps, I will love cheese enough for two people. At the very least.

Gouda is tasty especially with a loaf of fresh bakes bread. Slice it up and just tear on into the bread. A delicous cider or portar ale goes nicely depending on the season.
Although...
The best use of fancy cheeses is to make fancy grilled cheese sandwich.

Dubliner isn't that expensive. I think it's like five to six dollars for a large block at Wegmans. the challenge for you though, Alex, is finding a Wegmans near UPenn.

Have you ever had a large slab of Roquefort, put a heater next to it and just scraped off the melting cheese with toast?
Sooooo good.

That'll teach the spambots. Take their stupid topic and turn it into a discussion about the most awesome thing in the world (yes, I'm talking about cheese)

Oh, yeah - this reminds me of my halcyon days back on newsgroups. I frequented several groups, and watched the trolls and hackers from <alt.fan.karl-malden.nose> systematically terrorize and annoy their way through the USENET - forging posts to make it look like someone was attacking their friends, and the sort.
...but when they got to <alt.fan.monty-python>? Their ploys didn't work; the regulars just absorbed the 'nosers' and their trolling into the the random silliness that always went on in afmp.
