I know that you find dressing well important - where do you think is the cutoff between "really good idea" and "a must"? I figure students don't HAVE to look "professional" and office workers rather do... but are there any other categories about which you have strong ideas?

I've come back around to the fact that this is an intensely personal choice based on your age, cultural context, profession, etc. I can't really answer for any one but myself. Also, there's the factor of how much of yourself you put into what you wear. Some people treat clothing as an outlet to express their personality, others see it as a uniform, and others simply don't care at all. None of these viewpoints are inherently superior or inferior to the others. My interest in clothing and style is a hobby, and I try to be cognizant of that and not get too wrapped up in it when talking to people less interested.

You could, right now, look up a thousand "Twenty-Five Essential Pieces Every Man Should Have!" articles that will, somewhat surprisingly, mostly have similar lists of stuff you 'should' own. That doesn't make them right.

That said - if your grandmother, or someone similarly close, were to pass away tomorrow (let's hope they don't!), would you have something appropriate to wear to their memorial? What about a friend's wedding? Job interview? Beach barbeque?

If you can confidently answer 'yes' to that, you're doing just fine.

How do you feel about where you live? (house, city, country etc.). Are you happy there? Is there anything you would improve about it if you could?

Vancouver. I love everything about it except the cost of living (highest in North America), odd lack of decent breakfast joints, and lack of access to certain shops and brands. Would and probably will live here the rest of my life. I love mountains and the ocean, and we have both in spades.

How long have you had that gif as your profile picture for/where did it come from?

You list your first video as "Not Applicable", so what's the story behind how you got into LRR?

Slow day. Waiting for the other shoe to fall as they're moving the lab across the hall in and we're getting one of their old fridges. Apparently the reno was badly designed and they can't fit in half their equipment or stuff, so probably later I'll be running around to help sort things out.

Really nice here today. Finally summer. Going to take a walk with the wife later and discuss summer/fall plans. Looks like we might be going to San Fran for a vacation in early fall.

I played too much Fallout last night and had weirdly vivid dreams. No gaming tonight, maybe sew and practice guitar.

Having a handle on sewing feels good. I think I might actually make a craft for the Craft-along this year.

Flying to Edmonton for the weekend for a surprise engagement party for my brother-in-law and his fiance.

Somewhere between "How to Talk Like a Pirate" and "Halo 4"... I got linked to them somewhere and just did an archive binge (to avoid studying). I remember "Halo 4" coming out and telling friends that linked to it on FB that, hey, those guys have a lot of other cool stuff!

If you had to describe yourself in 140 characters or less, how would you do so?

If you could be faster than a speeding train or stronger than a bull, which would you choose?

Keep in mind that the speeding train is a Trevithick steam engine and the bull is only it's skeleton.

I don't mean to take this off topic, but is that referring to my post?

Since my page hadn't even re-loaded before I saw that post. How are you so damn fast?

Faster, obvi. The bull skeleton has 0 strength.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Oof, right in the feels.

Ideally? In my first owned home (likely condo) WITH A DISHWASHER, hopefully masters or maybe PhD under my belt, baby or toddler on my knee. Also, a dog.

How did you meet your wife? And how did you/she propose?

My quality of life is very, very good fortunately. Maybe losing thirty pounds, and working on my persistent procrastination. Wait...

Also, a dishwasher.

We met at a mutual friend's birthday party.

I proposed by putting the ring on top of a very nice cupcake.

What if you could have all that, but instead of the dishwasher, you had a dinosaur?
