PAX East 2014

From the official PAX Twitter:

Hello world! BIG NEWS - We'll be launching #PAX East 2014 registration Wednesday 10/23! Start checking after 12:00pm EDT

I would expect that hotels will go up around the same time. So if you're thinking about going, now you know when to grab a pass.

Tickets are up, and already sold out for 3-day passes. http://east.paxsite.com/static/index.html

EDIT: And now they're completely sold out. Have fun, those who managed to snag tickets. :)

Jesus, this early?

Well, as I said before, I might not go in 2014 since LRR won't be there. I might go to Anime Boston instead because I haven't been to that con in years.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be going this year either. It's more due to not having money or a job at the moment than just LRR (though that does play a part, don't get me wrong). And given how quickly tickets are going to sell out, I just don't think I'm going to be able to make it.

That said, I figured this information would be important to the runners who are planning on going.

Shame that now I'm in a position where I can easily go, and I've lost most interest in doing so.

I'll probably buy a pass (since I'm sure I can sell it at cost later if I need to) but I'm still not sure I'm going to go.

I'm definitely not going to get a hotel room this year though, just FYI.

I'll probably do the same thing.

I only plan on going for one day, as my sister has finally decided she wants to experience it and we definitely can't afford the full weekend (even if we had been around when passes went live). Now we've just gotta figure out whether Friday or Sunday is the better day to go...

If you can go Saturday, I think that's the day to go. Otherwise, I think Friday is the better of the two.

Saturday was out by the time I got a chance to even see what was still available. Friday is now low and my friends haven't gotten in touch with me yet as to their plans... ugh

Ahh. The thing in the front screen is off. It still says Saturday is low.

Got my ticket. Interest seems low since LRR won't be tehre, but is anyone else from here still going to PAX East 2014?

My wife wanted to go, but we were debating it too long, plus whats the point of going to PAX east if The rainbow rumpus room isnt going to reassemble.

I am going- what is this about LRR not going, though?

LRR aren't able to make it this year due to some jerk getting married that weekend. Apparently he's a big friend and a major part of the crew, so they're being forced to go to it instead. (Hint: The big jerk is James. James is getting married that weekend, so the crew can't make it to PAX East this year)

Man, PAX East is a pretty awesome wedding venue- what theater?

JK. What a jerk.

To be fair to James, this is by far the latest they have ever scheduled PAX East, he and Ashley specifically tried to plan the wedding to fall between East and Calgary, but since they dont announce dates ahead of time and wedding dates have to be set really early for various reasons they had to guess.

Ah. Actually, the date is easy to find on the BCEC web site, but that's kind of secret knowledge for most people I guess.

Yes, but when did it go up on the website? Almost certainly well after they had to set a date, unfortunately.

And to be clear, I was joking before. It's sad that it happened like that, but there's no way around it. I just wish the best for their wedding, and wish the best for those going to PAX East to have fun.

It's likely good it happened given how fast they sold out of tickets though. Otherwise some runners might have missed out anyways.

And Hotel booked

My situation: I have a hotel booked for the Fri and Sat but no tickets cause my source fell short before it got to me. Also found out I'll need to take a pricey bus trip back or spend more on hotel to avoid taking bus return trip.

If anyone is selling off their ticket, I'd still be interested.

Also if anyone is aware of reasonably priced accommodations just for the Sunday that could help too.
