I wasn't intending on being antagonistic. Seeing as they were in your "have to play" pile i was assuming you haven't played FF13; that you enjoy it is fine but I would not suggest to someone who has not played it that they do.
The 2013 tweet is a legitimate example of me being a jackass though.

I actually enjoyed 13-2. Hated 13. A lot. But 13-2 I jumped in with both feet and did thoroughly enjoy.
So I'd say let people make their own opinions. and find out for themselves. I hate olives and I know a guy who can drink the vinegar that contains them.

Well see, like, I didn't like 13 and I would not begrudge someone for liking it! but given that I was assuming he had not played it I would also assume he would not like it (because neither I nor most people I talk to do!)

FFIX
FFVI
FFVIII
FFX
FFV
FFX-2
FFVII
I haven't played past FFX-2. I can't stand VII, I've never been able to sit through it. I'd go back and re-play X-2 before I'd consider playing VII.

I'd order the one's I've played like this:
FF
It was a tough choice, but I think I've got that just about right.

Played yes, though not beaten. It was one of my first games. I was given it, Super Mario Bros, Zelda 2, and Tetris 2 with an old NES. I never understood the concept of grinding back then though, so I only got a little ways in, despite putting hours and hours into it.
Re: To twitter user @mattandre
PS1 did an Origins back with 1 and 2 in it. And then Anthology with 4 and 5.
Still no 3 on PS1.

Re: To twitter user @mattandre
I've played IX and X, didn't beat either of them. Not to say I didn't enjoy them, but there was always this or that boss fight that puts you on a permanent loop of phail.
I actually made a fun little roleplay element for X. That was the first game in the series with voice acting, but they still let you name the main character whatever you wanted. So I pretended that all the characters had met the protagonist once at a party and couldn't QUITE remember his name but didn't want to be rude about it.

It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

S/He gave FFVIII and FFIX an identical score, I don't need to read anything else to know that s/he is wrong.Cybren wrote:I guess this thread is now about final fantasy! If that's the case then everyone has to first do their homework!

Re: To twitter user @mattandre
Did you really make a thread with a title that is an @reply to someone on twitter?
The mind boggles.
(You know there are PMs for that, right?)
(Also I'm pretty sure Final Fantasy discussion go in the Video Games forum?)

1) i don't know who "mattandrew" is on the forums. He specifically mentioned he recognized me from the LRR forums.
2) he blocked me so obviously he's not going to see me reply to him.
3) I wanted a platform to apologize for causing offense but this thread mutated into a discussion of final fantasy
4) you're not my real dad

Re: To twitter user @mattandre
I played the original Final Fantasy for NES. Never beat it. I also played Mystic Quest on an emulator. Never beat that either. That's about it.

Ditto(the phrase not the Alex)
There are better channels for direct communication, if you wanted to start a lets fight about FF conversation call the thread that. (I mean no offence, my phrasing may be poor since I'm drinking)
