I'm in too much of a state of awe to even say anything clever right now.
A storm is coming, Frank says
A storm that will swallow the children
And I will deliver them from the kingdom of pain
I will deliver the children back the their doorsteps
And send the monsters back to the underground

well you had to have seen a little of the original in beast wars. let's see, when Optimus Primal enters that big alien building, the "all powerful being" took the form of unicron from optimus' memory. Um t-rex megatron finds thst golden disc which is a messege left by the original megatron. in the second to last season, Black arachnia finds the Arc (the original transformers ship) in the volcano and megatron nearly undoes the universe by trying to murder optimus while he's offline. And in the last season, Ravage (one of soundwaves cassettes) makes a guest appearence and fucks everyone up. So you've seen more original transformers than you think ^^

plus I'm pretty sure most of the beast wars characters where pretty much direct satires of the original transformers

Optimus Primal - Optimus Prime (well duh)
Megatron - Megatron (derr)
Cheetor - Hot Rod
Terrasor - Starscream
Rinox - Ultra Magnus
Air Rasor - RC

and so forth...

I always thought thats who they were supposed to be. Due to my age I watched a lot of Beast Wars when I was young. More recently I've seen a lot of G1 Transformers and DAMN it's so good.

Yeah I could tell those. MAN I HAVENT SEEN BEAST WARS SINCE 3rd Grade!!! I miss it ><. I'm sad that I don't remember most of that shit, except that Rat Trap was my favorite, along with Cheetor and Optimus Primal. They kicked ass. And I remember them being in the snow and some other stuff and stuff..

OH! And I remember Rat Trap sneaking through some place, trying to get back into their own base (I think?)

Not to mention that Waspinator eventually gets possessed by the Ghost of Star Scream, which was released when Galvatron Killed him in the Movie, and then later plagued Cyclonus in the third season of the Gen 1 series.

Also, don't forgot that Optimus Primal became Optimal Optimus when he briefly took the Matrix of Leadership from Optimus Prime.

The scenes in the ark, with the full-on CG Optimus Prime and other autobots?

Greatest moment in Television history.

I never understood why they didn't just do a CG revisit of the original series.

Botcon ruled. It was 10th Anniversary of Beast Wars time, so great BW stuff all round. 10 exclusive toys that were all BWcentric, BW voice actors, was great.

Me and the TFW people also drank all the Corona in the hotel, which rocked.

Next year's convention is going to be June/July at Hasbro HQ on Rhode Island, a week before the movie. It will kick ass.

And a CG remake of G1 wasn't done because it had no toyline to support it. Armada/Energon/Cybertron had amazingly kickass story concepts marred by the process used to produce it, but the toys were great. That continuity was so potential-loaded you could easily get 5+ years of great comics out of it.

TF:Heroes (working name) is going to be the first anime-devoid TF cartoon since the Beast Era and is currently casting (will likely air after the movie), and its cast sounds very G1ish. Personally I'm hoping for another continuity reboot since those are more fun and AEC had its ending, but eh.

Oh yeah, you can get all of Beast Wars on DVD, only Canada sucks and didn't seem to get it. I picked up Season 1 at London Drugs downtown, and Seasons 2 and 3 at a Best Buy in Las Vegas.

Yep. I watched a good chunk of Beast Wars while in school... College school.

What's with all the age threads lately?

Further Heroes intriguingness:

There have been some reports from the auditions. Apparently they're looking for a "young Tom Hanks-like" Prime voice, and a "like Scar from the Lion King" Megatron voice.

It's funny when they say "We kinda want David Kaye yet again" without saying it. 8)

I think Edward James Olmos should play Megatron, and James Earl Jones as Optimus prime. *nods*

Is this for the movie? Cause they already cast Peter Cullen as Prime.

I'm so glad there are more Beast Wars lovers around..Whenever old shows are mentioned, I NEVER hear about it.

And one thing is, I wathced it before school. My school started at like 9:00, and I watched it at like 8:00. So those weren't like, new episodes, but I'm not sure if I cared. what was I thinking

Nono, it's for the post-movie cartoon. Likely a fully new continuity.

A tradition, I hope, that will live long and well in the case of "beast machines"
