Alright, among my many other projects, I'm planning on doing animated art for my CP Art class. So I came up with an idea. I'm going to make a flash-based fighting game featuring LRR characters. Me and Yamaro (whose house I'm at) came up with a couple ideas for the characters. These were just randomly created from memory so nobody take offence if you aren't on this list.

Graham - All around character (one of costumes is with the obviously real beard)
Paul - All around character, possibly slightly faster
Gib - He will be in a robot suit, and will have the most costumes. Costumes are different suits (same fighting style for each though), including regular robot, red robot ala diesel sweeties, and a french maid.
Andy - Low in power and speed, but lots of feints and tricks.
Kate - Fast and low powered, lots of push back.
Bill - Slow and Powerful
Matt - Slow, lots of combos
Morgan - More fast, with homosexual taunts
Kath - Normal speed, stronger, not many combos.
Jer - ?
James - Decent speed and power, with hampire skills.
Johnny_Lunchbox - ???
PC - Strong and fast with very very few moves.
Mac - Strong and fast with very little range
Jangles and Jones - ?
64K - Slowish, decent strength, ability to tag team. (Two stay off side at all times)
Gameshow Host - Fast, stunning moves.
Story Guy - ?
Evil Guy - Fast, quite weak, summon minions.
Canadaman - A bit slow, a bit strong, good range (hockey stick)
Jaques - A bit fast, a bit weak, defensive/retreating moves
Mr Tiddlywinks - Very Strong, very slow, very few moves
Smal Time Guys - Weak, slow, lots of tricky-to-block moves
Door-to-door guys - ?
The guy who is super - Slow, decent strength, intense grabs.
Killahbyte - fast and smooth, regular strength. Calls in chairs sometimes.
Edward James Olmos - THe game tells you 'this character cannot be played'
Stereotype fighters - ?

As well as, if given permission
Korea Characters
Unlockable costumes from Canadian Waste
Gumbubble characters
Small boy and Monkey
Cacti - VERY slow movement, has to hop. Hard to hit.
The roomies characters not already above.

Now, I'll probably never actuallyu get around to doing this, but Its a nice thought. While its here, and questions/comments/additional character ideas/etc?

(Oh, and a certain person with initials U.B. will be a boss, with boxing moves)

Oh man, this sounds awesome!

I would happily, HAPPILY help with suggestions for moves/weapons and such in keeping with the characters.
For example, Killahbyte should have a fur-covered fire extinguisher (as he was supposed to in the LRRumble...)

Well, if we assume that I will work about six hours of this straight, once a month, we can probably expect it some time before I turn 50.

So, you're doing the art for this Mik? Is it drawn or pixel art? Just curious.

Also, 64K should have costume 1 be the colour-coded suits, and costume 2 be the track suits from LoadingReadyRap. What's Macheay suits?

This sounds awesome, btw.

Mik, hells YES to use Korea characters. Although I think they should come in as super attacks, rather than be regular characters.

Some suggestions:
Jane - doesn't actually attack, comes in, stares at the other person with distain, and the force of her derision reduces the opponents HP.

Quinn - Restores your health with a nurishing Gin and Tonic.

Trevor - Runs in being chased by some Latvian gansters, uses opponent as a human shield.

I'm most likely going to do pixel-art for this, although I was also playing with the idea of doing photo-realistic characters. That would have to include you guys taking a bunch of pictures. (If I was to do photorealistic, I'd be doing it a while after, version 2 or something.)

Oh, and for the mecha-ey 64K suits, I would just deck them out in various gear like at the beginning of the l33t movie.

I'm going to sit and play around will the possibilities I have, seeing what I can do. If I deem it to be actually possible and get properly enthusiastic about it (which shouldn't be too hard as long as I figure out a proper system for body parts) I may make a wiki page about it. Only if I'm fully sure I can do this. (I've made a fighting game before, I can improve on that system.)

Characters will have health and energy bars. The energy bar fills up slowly, letting you use certain moves. At full, you can do your special move. Kath can summon all of the Korea charcters for a 4 person combo. 64K will rap them to death. Mr. Tiddlywinks will do the obvious.

I was wondering, would people rather it be more traditional fighter, or more Smash Bros style? I think SSB-style would be more fun and it allows me to make stages with a vertical component, not just background differences like traditional fighters. It wouldn't be a knock-people-off style fight, it would still be HP based. What do you guys think?

Alright, I've done some planning in my sketchbook. I'm not completely sure about pixel art, as using flash to make the sprites would be easier and less time consuming. However pixel art does have that certain something...

Stages will be made like smash bros, with a small twist. Instead of pits that lead to nowhere, if you get knocked down into a pit (or out a window, into a door, what have you), the stage will switch, and the character that fell takes some damage. Its hard to explain. Example, The stage starts off on top of a large building. If a character gets knocked off the building and cant get back up, action stops for a minute, the scene changes to a stage in an alley. On one side of the stage there is a window. If you smash someone hard enough into the window, the action wil stop and the scene changes to inside the house. Again, hard to explain, you'll see what I'm talking about.

The attacking system is influenced by Smash Bros. (I'm thinking that Matt's down+B move will make him do a naruto-esque seal forming sequence to either have a bunch of pointy objects rain onto the stage, or summon an xbox to hurl at the opponent.) There will also be a few other combos that you can do. (eg, Matt's Down B,A,A will have shrapnel rain, and Down B,A,B will summon an xbox)

I'm thinking about adding in items ala Smash Bros. Items such as a pot lid, a video camera (sends a beam that stops opponents), an xbox controller, and a bunch of others, but I can't think of anything that canonically could work right now.

Some additional characters might be prominent forum members who love Gumbubble, and Mike Whitaker if only because having fancy walking as a move would make him the best character ever, and the funnest to animate.

Oh yeah. What should some moves be for characters? I want to work on the main cast first. I can't really think of anything. Other then Matt being a ninja. Unless Matt shouldn't be a ninja, and I add in the Loading Ready Live ninja.... But yes. Give me some ideas for special attacks people could do.

Kathleen - Rant about the opponent (IE: Pauls glasses)
Andy - Hurl musical notes.
Bill - Turn into billzilla
Morgan - Attracts the Man/Lady with his charm / Wang flailing.
64K: Barrage of super mario brothers fireballs
Canadaman - Attacks with folds of his lard.
Jacques Francois - Shoot poutine out of his lacrosse.
Jangles 'n Jones - Barrage of hair combs / bullets. Or mustache attack / Afro engulfment.
Kate - Throws a horrible tie at the enemy.
Gib - Becomes a horrible yeti demon.
Gameshow host - Bad mouths the opponent.
i dont know what's happening anymore

Mik is a forum whore, and uses it as a notepad.

64K switches members with a Mario 3 turning-into-tanuki-mario-puff/sound.

Maps include:
The LRRbl Island (what would it be called?)
Graham's house (starts off on roof)
Camp CYD (Can be knocked into the cabin, take extra fume damage. Can be knocked into the lake, somehow can breath)
The Parliament Buildings/The Harbour
[A forest in victoria, I can't name any]
The house above the store in Korea.
Mik and Mel's apartment from Gumbubble.
UVic Campus
A moose-laden highway
The venue that LRL was held at.

Maybe the camp is so gross it mutates them, and they grow gills.
That could be some fun animation

I think there should be one ultra-surreal level which takes place on these very forums. Instead of fighting, you comment on videos you like, post interesting links, ask generic questions, and get into ridiculous quasi-intellectual debates. Don't ask me how you advance or get any points or whatever. The level should be pure hell, just like it is for us forum goers EVERY GODDAMN DAY.

I kid, but seriously now. What is required: One crazy ass 'forum' level. Because we all know how important THAT is to LRR.

Yeah. the forum level would be like you get into a debate with someone and there is a choice of responses that you can use. The level would increase by your opponent. A spam bot would be the easiest to make fun of and every opponent gets harder until to you reach the hitman
