If you recently saw the (indeed mostly bad) first season you should read Will Wheatons write ups, which are pretty funny;

Just realised I watched Episode 2 of Agent Carter first. It did make it interesting as discovering a story yet to be told). Does explain the lack of character introduction and just going straight into the story, actually quite nice that way.
Episode 1 was a fun start.

I want more Agent Carter and I want it noooooow! I haven't been this excited for a new series in a long time. The fact that Hayley Atwell is who she plays a role, but I just love post-war period pieces. They could do more to establish the period, but that's the restrictions of network television for you.

I just love the idea of a period spy-fi.

I guess in some ways it fits the space of the canned period Warehouse13 spin-off that was going to star the (female) HGWells character.

Licensing issues presumably prevent the producers of Agent Carter from using better period music than "generic big band." Also, lots of people in the 40s smoked cigarettes and you're not allowed to portray smoking on network television.

But otherwise, the Master Gunner's aim is spot-on as always.

"and you're not allowed to portray smoking on network television."

Not sure that's strictly true, I think you just cant portray it in any positive way. The X-Files can still get away with its "smoking man" without CG editing it out, I think.

You can portray smoking on tv it is down to the network's policies.

I'm currently watching the Affair. It's ok, but it just keeps me anxiously waiting for a new True Detective season.

New season of Parks and Rec.
Really fun still. I am also amazed its a tv show set in the real world thats had a time jump, and they actually portray tech moving on a bit.

Still, like most tv shows/films, they are stupidly optimistic about free floating holograms. Getting light to stop and change direction in normal air is a pretty darn hard thing to do folks!

They do now. Current season is set 2017.

Techs progressing fast these days, but not that quick.
I'll buy transparent tablets, maybe even "into the screen" 3d effects by then. But not "jump outside the edges" like that.

Still, its only my nit-picking here. And lots of shows/films do this.

Makes more sense than the holograms on Bones.

True. Better CG too. I swear I saw a "doom sprite" billboard effect on their "3d" model once :P

I'm going to point out that they also have the Cubs winning the world series and Shia LeBeouf's surprise career change to fashion designer amongst other predictions for the far distant future of 2017. thatsthejoke.gif

Isnt the first a BttF reference?
And yes, the rest is clear jokes (I liked the discription of the new Bourn films), but I dont really think the techs supposed to be a joke.(as opposed to whats on it). I mean, everything else is fairly real world.

I've been watching The West Wing on Netflix.

Hot damn, my parent's generation were right about that show.

Is nobody watching The Flash? One of the best shows on TV right now, especially if you're a comic book fan.

I think the guy looks derpy in that mask. Reminds me of Rainn Wilson in Super. He'd look better if the mask didn't have holes for the eyes, but instead white eyepatches ala TV's animated Flash.

Tried "Forever" turned off fairly quick. I get fed up with Immortals moaning about how their condition is a curse. Just such a tied troupe.

Watching it. Loving it.
Great to have something not ashamed of its comic book routes.

I did chuckle with them re-teaming those prison break actors.

Just finished off Being Human on Netflix. I was surprised to find the American remake better than the original U.K. show.
