Siblings

Postby AdmiralMemo » 28 Oct 2014, 12:32

So, in talking with some people, it got me wondering how many people are only children, how many have a few siblings, and how many have lots of siblings. You can make comments regarding anything interesting you might want to point out, like a significant age gap (a la Steve Dengler and Ash Vickers), or all boys or all girls, or anything else you might find remarkable.

Personally, I'm an only child. My mother was an only child. My father, on the other hand, was 13th out of 18 children.

If I ever see my older brother again, I will end him.

One younger brother. We have a slightly below-average number of things in common.

I have three siblings, two older brothers and one older sister. We've all had gaming in common for as long as I can remember, haven't really led to the strongest of bonds. Grown closer to my oldest sibling, one of my brothers, lately though, since we've played a lot of games together, and have also been able to talk about our hardships with finding work.

3 Sisters, 1 brother, all younger than me.

Brother and two sisters are half related and the other sister is biological.

Did you tell your parents that you were adopting or did you just show up home with them?

I've got a younger brother, younger by 4 years. Over the years we drifted apart for a while, but we've grown closer both in the fact that we share an apartment, and also through our enjoyment of karate.

I have 1 older half-brother (through my mom), he is 8 years older than me.
1 Older half-sister (again, through my mom), she is about 6 years older than me I think.

One older and one younger sister, 2 years on either side of me (both parents), and one adorable little half-brother (through my dad) who is 12 years younger than me and currently half my age now.
Now, if we're counting step-siblings as well, make my count 7 as I also have 2 step brothers.

My little brother has 6 half-siblings (three through each parent), all older sisters, the oldest being 14 years older than him.

On brother, two years younger than me. We're total opposites in most ways, which is part of why we get along so well.

I acquired a stepsister when I was 15, and two more stepsisters and a stepbrother... Gosh, a year and a half ago? Something like that?

Two older sisters and one older brother.
I'm the youngest, with a 7 year gap between me and my closest sibling.
My sisters had already moved out of the house as far back as I can remember, so I didn't really grow up with them at all. My brother moved out just as I was entering middle school.
I was an uncle by the age of 9. Which isn't so odd compared my youngest nephew who was an uncle before he could walk, since both my sister, and my sister's oldest son, each recently had a baby.
