Desert Bus in 3D!

Postby Sofox » 13 Nov 2014, 06:21

I um....

Just watch the video

LRR and Desert Bus for Hope have given me such a fascination with this game, when I discovered there was a game engine out there that could simulate the entire planet I couldn't help but lay down a road entirely from Tucson, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada; following all actual routes and roads needed to get there.

Is anyone brave enough to actually drive that route?

Also when making a video, try to avoid oral ticks. You did a Tssk before and after almost every sentence.

Whoa, best of luck with that trip!

And yeah, ugh, I know what you mean. I tried to edit the video's audio, but I'm not sure you can edit the audio after the video has been uploaded to YouTube.

No, only in an editing program. If I am able to, would you like a cycle partner Hosk? It could be a fun thing to do during Desert Bus.

How long would that take? The bus takes 8 hours at 45 mph. If you were cycling at 15 mph, that would be 24 hours, but you're also in the desert... so I don't know how that would affect it.

Sorry to ruin this, but you went down a one way street the wrong way to start your journey from the bus depot :P

But seriously, I live a 5 min walk from there, it's really cool to see how my town looks without all the buildings in the way :)

Im betting it could be done in under 5 days probably less than 4 with proper training. The safe bike path is about 450 miles going from Tuscon to Las Vegas would be the "easier" way to go because Phoenix to Tuscon is kinda hilly terrain, where as Phoenix to Vegas is pretty smooth.

Quick question (seems a good place to put it): Where is Desert Bus this year? I assume they did not gut the Moonbase :P

They're calling it the Lunar Module. You can read more about it here.

I was only going one way, should be fine.

Also, sorry to disappoint but I'm seeing what I can do to add a few Tucson buildings. Hard to get my hands on them, but I found some for the Chase Building and the Bank of America Plaza at the 3D Warehouse.
