What if a device only needs one battery?
Fast Man. Has the ability to abstain from eating for a longer than normal time.

People can survive up to 3 weeks without food. So "longer than normal" could theoretically be like 3 1/2 weeks...

:P I'm "finding the obvious flaws" man!

Cool Dude. He has a below average body temperature compared to everyone else. Making him slightly more adept at living in hot countries.

Unfortunately, this talent became a liability when he grew much older. It means people had to be very careful to keep his body temperature content and healthy.

Then the battery "SBI man" has, has only JUST enough power left in it to power the device for 2 minutes. Tops.

A few marvel ones;

Storm(In a Teacup) - Ability to make a big deal out of *anything*
Nick Slightly Agitated - Furies cousin.
Electron - Ability to produce a single electron a will.
BlackCat - just a ordinary black cat.

Also a few nicked from a twitter list (after news of how the next Fox Fantastic Four film is going to portray doom);

* BlogterDoom - Wants to rule the world (wide web) teams up with the
The Reddit Skull and wants to destroy the Fantastic Fourchan with his army of twitterDoom bots.

Bluffcheck. Only power is to convince others he/she has superpowers.

Has a knife-guy. If there is no other knives easily accessible: able to produce 1 random type of knife from whatever clothing he/she is wearing. No formal knife-fighting training.

Waterdude. Can communicate with fish and other aquatic creatures, however usually comes off as demanding and not worth the fish's time to help. More accurately: has the ability to bribe fish.

The Winged Warrior. Has giant wings on each side of his/her body, no hollow bones however and flying is really slow/exhausting.

The Beautician: Anyone he's attracted to finds themselves gradually becoming more and more attractive by their standards. He, however, has a crippling fear of beauty, and his ability to speak in their presence is inversely proportional to how beautiful they feel.

Wolverine-speed regeneration - of the keratin-heavy body parts, namely hair and finger/toe nails. Cutting these parts off causes them to regrow to the same length almost instantaneously.

Captain Lion: Is a lion... mistakenly given a military rank due a cleric error. Has the power of drawing a veterans pension despite being a lion.

Cy-Borg: An escaped laboratory experiment... a genetic mutant with the perfect DNA combination of Cy Young and Swedish tennis star Bjorn Borg. As genetics is crap shoot in terms of abilities expressed, Cy-Borg is currently the second-string Goalie for the Baltimore Blast.

Dead-man: A corpse. No known powers, but occasionally convinces criminals to cease crime with a mild reminder of their own mortality. But only if the crime occurs in the field in which he is still laying unburied.
He habitually wears an expression as if he had determined to drive his head through a brick wall, and was about to do it (Description of U.S. Grant)

I guess it's time to disclose my family's curse / lame superpower...

My family has the uncanny ability of vivifying restaurants for an evening. Enter a place deserted & usually leave with the place busy.

It's more pronounced with multiple family members (generally by blood).

I can't confirm this, but my mom stopped at one place (while visiting my sister at college) that was like "ghost town" dead as she wanted a quiet place to have dinner & left with her meal comped by the owner as others started dropping in.

It's just funny when the "curse" kicks in when we stop somewhere for dinner.

It might be because your willing to step into dead restaurants. I think a lot of people are put off and don't go in - causing a kinda feedback effect.
By overcoming that social initeria it breaks the cycle and everyone comes in.
[/boring explanation]

Either that or your family is quantomly entangled with the specific part of the brain in every other human that determains if a restaurant looks nice to eat in.

Regardless, the world is a better place because of your family.
It gives quiet restaurants a fair chance.
