Write a letter to your past self. This cannot be an angry, recriminating letter. I know we're all embarrassed by our past selves, but I want you to remember how it felt to be young(er) and scared, with a future that seemed out of your control. Of course you did dumb shit. We all did.

So handwrite yourself a letter. Be supportive. Be kind. Maybe tell yourself about your future, or just comfort yourself in the then. Then burn, tear up, throw away, or otherwise dispose of it.

Done... rewrote it twice, trying to get it right. Shredded it in the trash can. Threw the trash out.

*hugs* I actually do this about once a year. It's cathartic.

BTW, Fayfay, I would like to reactivate the 'clean a room' quest. I remembered it in the middle of my cleaning marathon today, and then checked that I have the points to reactivate the quest. So... my 'first' picture is actually a mid-clean challenge... but it's a week long spring cleaning effort.

Look. I'm not gonna lie to you and say it's gonna get better. I mean, the statistics are in our favor, but I'm still waiting on that. I can, however, say that things will go from pear-shaped to ovoid, which is at least an improvement.

You're doing okay, pal. Really, you are. All this shit that seems like the end of the world is just the end of the moment. Don't worry so much about getting a girlfriend, especially one of the ones we went to high school with. Because seriously, we've got better taste.

Maybe try and work a little harder when you get to school, so we won't have to leave all our friends behind. But even if that happens, just remember you've still got friends, and you'll get to a better place. If I can promise one thing to myself, that'll be it. You'll get there.

Wrote it. Tore it into itty bitty bits. Threw it in the trask. Good thing the trash people come today.

today is the last day in the house as a family. Your parents are going on with their own lives now and you'll be going between two homes now. No one person in the family has spoken to you about how you feel nor will they in the future; they will only care about their complaints. You will be isolated for a long time, but you will be happy again when you make a friend in an unlikely place. Even if it is for a short time it will be the best you will ever feel and then the worst. Don't expect too much beyond it.
Never sstop what you're doing, keep doing what you enjoy and don't listen to what other people say you'll just keep putting ideas and projects off just that one more day.

Oh, and fun fact; since handwriting for any length of time is actually painful for a left-handed dyslexic like me, I typed the above letter and emailed it to the old Freenet email address I had back in 1997.

Today, four days later, the message was 'returned undeliverable' by "postmaster@<domain>" due to 'email address being defunct' - I guess that counts as destroying it?

I actually did this one last night at about 3am. It felt really good.

I took a photo as proof, then I ate it. Eating paper takes TIME, you guys. It took ages.
