Hey, with the drugs you can get during child birth, it is possible to forget about it. And the pain if you can't get the drugs can block out some memories.

Congrats and best wishes! It's too bad that Kathleen won't be able to take much part in Desert Bus, and I'm going to miss the Rewatch podcast. But that's fine. There are more important things to worry about.

I will say I really respect the 'we have a big social media presence, but that doesn't mean our child should have to' mentality that was mentioned. Unless I misunderstood that part.

Big congrats! Man, I bet it would be awesome to have Graham and Kathleen as parents. That kid is going to have a hell of an awesome childhood.

Things changed when Matt and Jer and Tally moved to Vancouver. Things changed when Tim had a child. Change is scary, but it's natural and it's not necessarily bad. I can only think of good things happening from this, personally. :-)

I do as well. :-)

These are great news and I wish Graham and Kathleen all the happiness.

I have a slightly more tricky note to my wellwishes, if you see this message G&K. I was appalled to find out that not all expecting couples are told about toxoplasmosis, and have very strong personal reasons for talking about them, namely that a colony of the bastards have been in my right eye since before my birth. So, If you do know about them, just focus on the first paragraph of my message. If you don't, The CDC has some info, especially where they talk about pregnancy and toxoplasmosis.

I iterate my sincerest congratulations to both of you.

Also I'm campaigning for all the crew's kids to be referred to as LoadingReadyRugrats.

Nicer than LoadingReadyRunts.

I was so happy when I found out, mostly because IIRC from Desert Bus 8, Kathleen mentioned that she has some first-hand experience with domestic violence shelters and that sort of thing could put one off of having their own family. But I'm so very glad that isn't the case.

Even better: Graham said on Twitter that I could make a thing for them for the baby and he gave me color choices for them. And then I found some really nice yarn and I'm totally going to knit them a blanket.

Yay for knitting! Yay for LRRBabby!

That is a realization that Graham and Kathleen can be satisfied for children's clothing for life now since the runners are a pool of highly talented garment makers.

Some umpteen years down the road when the babbies are ready to have their own social media presence LoadingReadyRun: The Next Generation (LRR:TNG) seems like a good handle. I think it can be full LRR:TNG instead of LRTNG.

I like this enough that I will probably always think of all LRR crew progeny as LRR:TNG.

If Paul is reading this, I suggest grabbing lrrtng.com just in case... Or Bionic Trousers: The Next Generation

The children may not want to do exactly what their parents did.

Don't worry Fayili, if I somehow spawn a child I'll accept your knitwork.

I'm wondering if the yarn industry long ago starting adding chemicals that force people to want to knit things for new babies.

I'm not saying knitting for babies is a bad thing, but it's a strange thing to see over and over again for someone that does not knit.

I mean, it's not like iOS programmers find out their friend is having a baby and think, "Ohhhh! I've totally got to write an app for their baby. I wonder if their aunt is already writing an app for them. I'll have to make sure my app is a different color than their app."

Knowing the people LRR know, however, that may not be the best counterexample.

I totally made an app for a child of a family friend, once. I try not to make a habit of it, though...
