Sooo dumb/weird question, what are the dimensions on the chat monitor/tv you all have set up for Desert Bus, to basically look at chat as you all are playing Desert Bus

This year I had the stream on my TV and the chat on my computer. That may not suit everyone, of course, though.

Two monitors, DB9 on the left, Fallout 4 on the right. Chat in Chatty on the right as well, but since I'm not going to be typing/reacting quick enough while I'm playing Fallout, not up most of the time.

For DB007 I had stream left, X-Com right, and Chat on a laptop in front.

I've got an asymmetrical two-monitor setup. I had DB9+chat on the bigger monitor (left), whatever I was doing on the smaller (right).

I managed to turn my mother onto Desert Bus as well; she watched on a TV, while occasionally chatting on her laptop.

I just recently found out about Chatty. Looks pretty neat. I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not I need it, though.

My setup was a laptop to my far left with the stream running fullscreen on it, a monitor to my left running Slack and VST Spreadsheet/editing, and my main monitor running Stat spreadsheets, IRC (#DesertBusBunker and a tab for Twitch chat I never used), as well as general purpose browsing.

Main TV/monitor in front of me had stream up, and secondary monitor to my right had chat. I mainly lounged in my bean bag chair and talked trash.

I wager that's Fangamer drop #2 that's largely responsible for it, given that the pre-orders for the second printing wouldn't generate a final dollar figure until after Final Busdown. If it wouldn't be in by then, no sense rushing the number.

If it's like last year, we'll have a couple other scattered sources tacking onto the toteboard as the year drags on. Not enough to make any 'quick, someone get on stream and drive another hour' jokes, but enough to make Future Us work that much harder in DB10.

Anyone buy a spare poster by any chance? I have them all from 4 (first year I believe?) onward and didn't buy in time this year.

I had the Twitch app running on my phone for video, connected to the 55 inch TV in the living room. I had my laptop on the couch with MIRC running the chat & usually my photo transfer/editing software up for all the Game Boy Camera stuff I was doing.

I have a question - Given it's been over a week since DB9 ended, will the DB IRC server return or has the channels been permanently moved to another domain?

The Desert Bus IRC still is in bunker mode on #DesertBusBunker on irc.chatspike.net

No word yet on when irc.desertbus.org will be back online. I can only assume Ashton is still recovering from Desert Bus.

I pinged Ashton on Twitter to see if he had an ETA, but yeah, I imagine he's still recovering.

With the start of Desert Bus almost a month ago, does anyone else find themselves thinking back to what they were doing exactly a month ago and sometimes wishing they could go back? I have this especially right now, since both today and 13 november I felt rather down and worried about the future. Except last month, Desert Bus started and gave me so much hope and joy.

This time last month I was preparing for my first volunteer shift. As much as I'd like to go and do that again, I'm about a DB9 run away from being finished with this job that has been wearing me down for nearly a year. I'm looking more to the future (including DBX, which I would love to have a Dragon Ball theme now that I used that abbreviation) than to last month.

I will say I was disappointed by no Derpline (or even Qwopline). Alex mentioned that Qwerpline is a kind of continuation/progression of Derpline. And I would largely agree with that. But I think there was more than enough room for both of them. Especially given Qwerpline wasn't able to happen until near the end (though for good reason).

They're two different sorts of 'shows' for Desert Bus too. Derpline is more of a improv call-in show that uses random characters that seem largely thought up on the spot. It seems like a really nice little improv 'game' to be played. Qwerpline felt a lot more scripted for one. That doesn't mean it was, and that could just be a showing of how well they nailed it. But it didn't have the same feel to it. It also used established characters. Again, that's not a bad thing, but it leaves not as much room to be surprised. I didn't quite have an ASS: The Musical level laugh as I have previously. Though the Dogemin came close.

Don't get me wrong about one thing though. I loved Qwerpline. And if I had to choose between the two, I would have picked it every time. But I was disappointed that Qwerpline just kind of overtook Derpline/Qwopline entirely.

I think part of it is that we get a new Qwerpline every couple weeks now while Derpline and Qwopline come but once a year.

So... I just had an idea on how to come up with challenges next year.

Plug the titles of all of the clips on the Desert Bus youtube channel into a Markov Chain generator, and then the DB crew has to enact whatever results it spits out.

Have the Desert Bus 8 photo books been sent out? I ordered one during DB9 and received the confirmation email but nothing since then. I seem to recall someone mentioning they had not been sent yet but now I can't remember if that's correct or where I'd heard that.

I ordered the whole package... The poster, pins, book, etc. I haven't received any of it yet.

I received the poster a few weeks ago, so I'm assuming it's the book that's holding things up if you've got the whole package.
