Hi guys,

So since Desert Bus switched to using Twitch Chat a couple years, the Desert Bus IRC we've being using for the past several years is finally going away.

HOWEVER, Desert Bus Chat will not die so easily! We are relocating over to irc.dbcommunity.org

If you don't have an IRC client, you can just hit http://irc.dbcommunity.org in your browser, and join that way.

For anybody that hasn't being in DBChat before, feel free to check it out. It's a good group of people - LRR fans and people that just stuck around after Desert Bus. Generally always a conversation going on, people playing games together, or talking MTG or the latest TV show.

Looks and works pretty good.

Honestly I just lurk 90% of the time, and I know I'm not the only one. But then a discussion on the economics of Star Trek or something starts, so I join in.

So don't feel you have to speak up in there if you don't feel comfortable yet.

Hmm. I got in yesterday, tried to get in today and:

Error Connecting (Closing Link: [email protected] [No more connections allowed from your IP [My IP Address])

Not sure if this is something on my end. Tried to clear out cache/etc., which did nothing.

I've passed that along, and we're looking into it. It's possible that too many connections from the web client caused the server to start refusing them. So it should be a temporary problem.

I had the same problem after I'd closed the window since I got disconnected by my computer going into sleepmode, but after a while it just connected by itself again.

*Hopefully*, we've just managed to fix the problem. Let me know if you still encounter it.

Getting bookmarked & I'll get my connections updated w/ Trillian eventually.

Just want to check that bunker (#DesertBus on Chatspike) will serve as an emergency back-up, should things break down?

The Bunker will still serve as an emergency backup, but that's far less likely to be necessary now. We're running on 4 separate servers, so even if one goes down, you should still be able to connect and get a different node.
