On Gay Paree.

Postby Gap Filler » 10 Jun 2016, 14:18

When they show Paris on telly it's always the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre (the sculpture out front at least). Never the Gare du Nord, all full of beggars and bird shit. Funny that.

Reminded of that this evening waiting for kick off. Had a whole state of the nation address type post lined up there touching on France looking dodgy despite the win, the EU referendum, God Save the Queen vs Jerusalem Land of Hope and Glory, Hong Kong's relationship with the Big Green but you know so many avenues of thought and so little focus. Methinks better keep it pithy and the way Paris demands we see the Mona Lisa Overdrive while leaving the banlieues lying around in plain sight is a more universally relatable topic.

Because very few people know what the Gare Du Nord looks like.
The most unique, nicest, and confusing individual you will get to know. Don't be stupid around me, that's my job.

As far as I know. the Gare du Nord is where Ulfric Stormcloak parks his Chevy Nova during the winter.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

Whisper it but for a moment there backing Wales looked the sensible option.

Also, the world champions were suspiciously flat (Poland could've taken them). So much for German efficiency.

Perhaps, backing Wales really is the sensible option.

Presuming an awful lot here but Wales v France sounds like a very tasty final.

I think we all want to see Wales-Iceland.

If either of those teams won, I'd be quite happy about it.
I'm also QuintonDreaming. Stupid username availability prevents me from always being an Icelandic volcano.

Much as we all want Wales Iceland (self included), pessimist in me just doesn't see Iceland getting past both France (avec home advantage) and Germany (fresh off beating their bogey side) in one swell foop.

Can I change my prediction to Wales versus Germany?
