During Adam's DS3 stream on October 1st, someone in chat mentioned that audio quality was bad, and especially during the really loud boss fight against that storm/nameless dude, there were a lot of artefacts (a high-pitched "tingling" electronic noise). I also noticed similar artefacts now while watching the "The Final Station" Let's Nope on youtube, e.g., over the shot at the last enemy directly after https://youtu.be/J9cxLDVLO5A?t=8663
Sounds like maybe something is clipping in audio capture? The tech stream chart indicates that audio is taken from "HDMI switch 2", maybe that is causing some issue with the game PC?

Re: Audio issues on some (PC?) streams
I have noticed, over and over, that there's a weird directional audio issue on a lot of streams. Usually in a first-person game. If the streamer looks at the source of a sound, it's audible, but if they look away, it becomes less audible. It seems like the game is trying to make the audio directional, but that the settings are wrong, so in stereo it doesn't create the illusion of the audio coming from, say, behind the player character. It just gets really quiet.
The worst part is that I don't think the streamers hear this issue - it seems to only appear in the audio being streamed out, not the local audio.

And with the genius of !paul (Paul available), the demon known to mortals as Windows Audio Settings was slain and pristine stereo audio was restored and chat listened and found it good.

Re: Audio issues on some (PC?) streams
Sorry this went on so long, I didn't realize it was a problem until I saw this thread and people mentioned it in chat while I was playing. Glad it seems to be fixed now
