Desert Bus Resolutions.

Postby Squirrel » 11 Nov 2016, 17:35

Having decided I'm going to watch as much of this Desert Bus run as possible I started to think...
1. I like to have projects or tasks on my long journeys, (be that admin, sewing, book reading, etc.) And
2. Sitting in my computer chair for the entire bus run isn't going to be healthy.

So I came up with an idea.

Here are my desert bus resolutions. Things I shall do over the course of desert bus, and if I fail I will do something silly/weird/unpleasant (suggestions welcome) and share said doings with the forum/chat/bussing humins.

1. I will sort the last *cough**redacted**cough* months worth of magic cards that are living all over my table.
2. I will dance to as many dance parties as I safely can (not gonna dance if trying to sleep, eat, or handling hot drinks).
3. I will tidy my living room over the bus run.
4. I will actually remember to eat and drink proper amounts over the bus run rather than getting distracted by the funnies as I usually do. Because self care is good.
5. I will put a good chunk of work into the tedious parts of my current sewing project.

If anyone wants to join me, please do. Post your own resolutions,
And suggestions for the forfeits if I fail are gratefully received.

That's a great idea.

I've been doing it for the last 4 years since I always take the week off work I use it to organize my bills and other paperwork that has been thrown in one of the cupboards over the year.

Also this year, there are some group projects for university I have to finish.

So my List will be:

1. Organize my Paperwork, digitalize some of the Contracts.
2. Finish the Projects. (Without putting DB Memes into it)
3. No Convenience food, only fresh cooking for Lunch or dinner
4. Set aside some time for the Test on Friday
5. Sleep at least 5 hours a Day
6. Stay within the set budget for once. (yeah... not going to happen, but hey it's like "quit smoking" on new years for some people I know)

If I fail more than half of them, I'll quit coffee for two weeks.

1. Start more fires.
2. Start more fires.
3. Nuture these fires into fire tornadoes.
4. There is no Option 4.
5. Beat up John Cena.

1. Finish knitting these gloves.
2. Get at least a foot of this scarf done.
3. Go to work every day I have scheduled and do my job pleasantly and helpfully with minimum distraction.
4. Properly clean up the kitchen.
5. Do at least one other cleaning task (tidying, dusting, w/e).
6. Reduce my pile of library loans.

And all I can do is read a book to stay awake. And it rips my life away, but it's a great escape.

I often end up just sitting at my computer for hours on end during DB, so this is a great idea!

1. I will finish building the set model for my Oedipus Rex scenic design.
2. I will spend at least an houur a day uninterrupted finishing my thesis.
3. I will send about a bajillion emails.
4. I will troubleshoot a craft-along submission for next year.
5. I will get a reasonable amount of sleep.
6. I will interact with real humans and support my friends who need it right now.

I've been watching as much Desert Bus as I can, and the resolutions I've come up with are:

1. I'll get more involved in the LRR community.
2. I'll maintain that for as long as possible.

So far I'm doing well!

My resolution is to finish a massive quilt top I've been wanting to do for 2 years now. I have 1/3 finished.

1. I've kinda let my game streaming slip (due to odd work schedules during the holidays). Gonna try to get back on that.
2. also let my music streaming slip (see reason 1). Must fix.
3. I have a massive backlog of recommended anime to get through.
