Final Fantasy 7 re-release

Postby Mirran » 24 Jan 2007, 19:02

(Okay, I have to admit TWO things before the two of you on here that know me call me a hypocrite:
1. Yes, I know over the years I have bashed the hell out of FF7... without playing it. I recently beat it and... it was amazing
2. PS3 and I still arn't talking right now, I just still will go out of my comphort zone for Final Fantasy)

I have just recently finished watching the "Technical Demo" for the PS3 where they re-created the opening cutscene of Final Fantasy 7, which made me have mutiple orgasms in my freaking infotech class. I later heard that Square wil be re-making it for the PS3 (rumor?). I was just wondering about all of your general thoughts and feelings behind the re-release (or about hype, memories, fanboyisms, etc)

It's just a tech demo. I really, really dont think they're going to go through with this, what with a lot of major companies dropping PS3.

I think the Wii might see it.

I figured as much... -shakes head- I guess if Sony is smart at all maybe they'll try and land a contract for the idea.

Great idea, except it's Sony we're talking about here. They hate their customers.
"I swear it," said the other mother. "I swear it on my own mother's grave."

"Does she have a grave?" asked Coraline.

"Oh yes," said the other mother. "I put her in there myself. And when I found her trying to crawl out, I put her back."

Ah, but if what you say is true, than perhaps their denial could just be them enjoying trying new sadistic marketing ploys -wishful thinking-

That's kind of a negative way of treating it, dude.

Matt is completely right, SquareEnix has said many, many times that they are not remaking the game for PS3. It's not his fault, he wants it as badly as you or I do, trust me.

I have always held out hope. Fingers crossed this isn't more bullshit.

That's not quite what I meant, it wasn't the "in hell" part. I don't care how many times you say hell.
It was that you posted the news article to "put down" people who were merely stating fact.

for the record, considering what a train wreck the PS3 is so far, I'm hoping it comes to 360 rather than PS3

They said after the success of the remake of FFIII that they might remake other games as well. FFT is another instance of this. I'm thinking they will. Regardless of what they say/have said.

I've said it once and a hundred times, a FF7 remake would sell PS3s.

Yeah, totally agreed (sorry, I don't pay attention to the context of how I post things >.<). Though, if it comes out on the 360... that'll be the mover for me. -sigh- And if MGS 4 comes out on the 360... man... stupid X-box... becoming cooler than Sony. (Gears of War + Halo 3 + Viva Pinata = Win)

Just reading the first post made my heart skip.
So, yeah, I would buy a PS3, if there was FFVII-remake for it.
That would be the ONLY reason for me.
But also the ultimate reason.
I'd have no choice, really ^^.
Can't take the sky from me. Again.

I would buy one just for the remake. Then shortly after beating it, never touch the PS3 again.

Oh funny note: the other day I was in The Bay Center. And there was a huge line up in front of the Sony store. "What gives, have they gotten another shipment of PS3's? Does anybody even care anymore?" I thought.
Haha turned out to be a crowd of 50+ people watching the Hockey Game.

Exactly. But I'd buy one, play the FF7 remake, and then sell it back to get a Wii.

I would rather see it on the Wii...because I want a Wii, and I would rather giuge out my eyes than buy an Xbox.

I am serious, I have moused over every word in that post, and none of them come up as a link in my browser.
