Or, let's try this:

Assign me a class, and I'll play that character. (I can even do NPCs and villains.) I can only play up to about 6:00 tomorrow, though.
"...so he turns to me, and he says 'Why so serious?' He puts the blade in my mouth, and says 'Why so serious?
Let's put a smile on that face!

Ok... We have lots of people who want to play, and a few potential DMs... I think that everyone interested should join the #loadingreadydungeon soon, maybe tomorrow and discuss how we can best manage all the players.

Cool?

The d20 System Reference Document is a good resource - and it opens as a webpage and is categorized by section, so it's easy to search.

I'd love to either play or be a DM. (Both, in seperate games, would be kick ass).
I actually have a bit of a story playing in my head for a campaign already, as I was going to be DMing a game with my IRL friends, but people got busy and the plan fell through.

Alright, I'm going to be starting a game too.
Anyone who would like to play in my campaign, email me just saying what you'd like to play as and your general time zone, and possibly any times you know you wouldn't be free. I'd most likely be DMing on weekends, although I'm pretty flexible.
I'll take about 4 or 5 people. Just so my and Alex's games don't accidently overlap, I think I'll be opening a #loadingreadydungeon2 or #lrd2 or something.
So, uh, yeah. Email me ([email protected]) if you're interested in joining my game :D

Mini bot update.

New command added: !lrdtopic
Uses: Changes the topic mode.
How to: says !lrdtopic in the chat, and up to 5 words afterwards, and the bot will change the topic to "Welcome to LoadingReadyDungeon - LRR's D&D Channel - Current DM: Alex Steacy - Current Mode: " and then it'll add your mode to the end

Update for Alex really, as changing the topic can be a bit of a bitch, dunno what IRC client he uses, but this'll simplify things a hell of a lot.

Oh, and to set out of session, just type !lrdtopic

:)

PS: As for the games overlapping, just some careful scheduling will do it perfectly :)
And if there are 2 games going on, then I'll add some extras to that, to change the DM name :)
One Bot to rule them all,
And in the darkness lag them...

Hey, someone just added me to MSN, and I think I may have hit "no" to adding them by accident. Whoever it was, re-add me.

C'mon, someone has to want to join the second game. A cleric can't adventure by himself.
I'm a very boring person.

Well actually a few people have joined. Melendwyr is possibly switching games because Alex might be overworked (thats what he said, so I don't know.), and another person who doesn't go to the forums wants to play as a Sorcerer. And I got an add to MSN from someone, but I think I said "No, don't add" by accident.

Alex did say he didn't want more than four people and already (without Mel) we are up to five. So I suppose that is a good idea. Share the love!

Hah, I love the Order of the Stick. I can't believe I forgot aobut that. But do you truly gain experience for boring your enemies?

You do in my game. Any way you win an encounter counts for experience in my adventure.

I also award XP for extreme cleverness and roleplaying.

My dad keeps raving about the good old days when rpg's were all paper and pen. None of this "next gen" hooha. But sure I'd love to play a game. It'll be like in the movie last samuri. "The DM of this game brings together the old ways and the new"

Yes, I agree. Things get boring when all you do is fight.

You have no idea... My local game is nothing but combat, and it's fun, but everyone is a little bit into the power gaming, and I think there's a sort of arms race going on character-wise. Our newest player has entered play with a 13th level half-ogre fighter with an ice/electric greatsword and a ring of growth. Essentially he grows himself to huge size category and deals out so much hurt that he doesn't even need the cleave feat to empty a room.

Conversely, my current PCs (I love you guys) getting well into the character discussions, accents and subtleties of play. Keep it up, guys!

...Anyway, If anyone would like to refer back to my first post in this thread, I've begun a campaign journal for your reference. Check in on it, and let me know about corrections!

Melendwyr, I need you to contact me sometime. We might be starting the game soon.

In our game, we have a sorcerer, a monk who is going to multiclass as a wizard, a cleric, and an undecided. XD Lots of spellcasting.

*yaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn*
Ok...
It's 2am, and Mik has had me coding for the bot...

Changes to the !lrdtopic command...

Now detects which of Alex, Mik, or myself use it, and changes the DM name to "Alex Steacy", "Mik", or "Awaiting DM" respectively. Anyone else who tries it will just trigger bugger all...

If it's buggy, it's Mik's fault...
